The GDA is disappointing. Hopefully they don’t hurt the women’s World Cup like they did with the men.

That should tell you about the quality of the competition in ECNL as well.
Lest we not forget GDA has done nothing but flaunt that Oregon soccer sucks. No ECNL team trailed Crossfire Premier like GDA, including CU except for the one age bracket. Ecnl (two clubs) had to fill brackets each age year and GDA (one club) struggles holding a candle combining age years.

THUSC & LOSC (aka CU) & FC P, 3 local neighborhood clubs who have been forming classic & Rec (losc) OYSA teams for the better part of 4 decades. Rarely producing any team that was relevant at a regional level let alone a standout in the PNW, simply put they have been fixtures in the OYSA landscape of decent teams. Joining the US Club OPL didn't elevate either of these clubs and then abandoning the state league and joining the US Club ECNl further highlighted the Oregon Sucks legacy and in this 'case sisters of the poor' standing was cemented. Present day the DA has entrenched itself as the top tier for boys & girls marginalizing any usys or us club league.

Locally we have just one NWSL Thorns DA they no competition in that space.

Timbers/Thorns intern is paid by the word. Well done!

The men get to relax and watch the WC on television. Going in style with potato chips and wine spritzers. Well done US soccer.

At least they don't have to fund useless travel by air for their average kid. Jus sayin

                Yep. This ^^^

Oregon girls soccer sucks and Thorns just blasted it with GDA. Good job! Hello D3 and hello comments from parents who really should just put their girl in OYSA.

It will take time for that to happen since GDA is six months in and all NT players would be ecnl or other league developed. But if the men's side is any indication then yes, expect to see the women's side to flat line while the rest of the world catches up and passes us

They shouldn't add more until they fix what they have. Also, there aren't many quality clubs out there to add since most have decided to stay with ECNL. The fact that so few joined is another indication few are impressed with GDA so far.

What's funny about this post is that Oregon teams won't play the higher level ECNL teams because they're relegated to the backwater brackets at the showcases. At least GDA gets to go head-to-head against teams like Earthquakes and Reign. Which I deem as better than playing your cousin at FCP once a month.

You have to look big picture - the quality of clubs involved with GDA is very inconsistent across the US. Some quality clubs chose to wait it out.

These GDA team numbers aren't taking account the clubs that are kicked out (Burlingame), gone bankrupt (FCKC) or switched to ECNL (Virginia Academy).

                            Going to shrink next year.

Keep Burlingame! The 13-0 whippings are a perk of being in GDA.

Burlingame builds up the stats for our Oregon academy players. That’s a good thing. We should all want all Oregon players to do well.
