This was bound to happen at some point. Girls soccer is a mess. DoC I know said that the way Ecnl worked was a great idea until they admitted lower level teams. The DA under the leadership of US soccer is a joke to deal with even if you might agree with the idea nevermind the awful structure they've put in place opposite of the anti pay to play idea anyway. DA also has really bad teams in it.

Clubs are spending a lot of time, manpower, resources, and losing credibility trying to hop around from one self serving league to another. This was eventually going to happen when clubs all realize they are simply chasing each other around and might as well organize easier, cheaper, efficiently, and gain much of the power back.

This forum is full of FUD, not to mention a whole slew of outright lies, all under the cover of anonymity. You'll understand if spectacular claims are met with requests for evidence.

Not true--a lot of BS is spouted here, and swiftly forgotten once it proves to be BS.

This could be true--and it wouldn't surprise me if it were--but some evidence would be nice.

Agreed. One national competitive team. Not 3-5 saying they are nationally elite but actually mediocre.

We will see if they can pull it off. I have my doubts but at some point it will happen.

Once specific clubs sort out they can compete with each other while eliminating all the waste they will not continue to play in leagues where they have to fork over money they don't know where it's being wasted, travel to play bad teams who say they are elite, deal with autocratic leadership from US soccer. Ecnl was a good idea until it let in poor teams like the ones from Oregon. Gda has been a complete side show and further shows how dumb and ignorant the people affiliated with the company called US soccer.

It's the pillars that built the US Club Soccer League (ECNL) "wasting money on travel while your rarely get to play good teams (for the 2 Oregon Clubs) and instead they get a lot of really bad ones (like them)."

US Soccer is tackling this head on with the DA.

US Soccer doesn't have a clue what it's doing. The GDA league is a shambles and everyone knows it. Won't survive the summer. Timbers are even more clueless. Raking is all that money from tryout fees, training fees, OYSA fees, and keeping 90% of it for themselves - and they think that is helping Oregon youth soccer. What a crock! Youth soccer in Oregon won't improve until US Soccer gets out of the youth game and the Timbers are banned from all youth leagues.

Truth of the matter is that youth soccer is on the decline in the US. Numbers are falling across the country as the costs and time become ridiculous.

All pay to play competitive soccer benefits leagues not players. GDA and ECNL isn’t going anywhere. Clubs aren’t forming a third league because they care about players.

Evidently it was the Texas clubs that pulled out of the DA that started this idea. I don't blame them. Leagues are being rediculous right now. It is interesting that there is a play in system for teams that win the championships of Ecnl and us youth national leagues.

One major Texas soccer club did not join the GDA, already applied to join next year.
