    Lets go Portland!
Not sure if this comment was sarcasm or not......but caught a few minutes of 05 FC vs 05 Westside on way out of Delta Park today. Somewhat familiar with players from last year's teams. Majority of new faces on both teams. Curious to see if these will be same group of players for Beaverton Cup.

Beaverton CUP will feature a match between Westside's DA (more than half of which played for Copa last year) and what FC calls "Navy" (not sure if this is their DA team, their top OYSA team excluding DA players, or the top players in their pool--I think FC hasn't officially picked the DA team yet).

That should be an interesting matchup, given both teams lost heavily (to Timbers Academy) from their OYSA first teams in 2016-2017.

Copa this year is Westside's second team (the first team being the DA), though a few DA players were reportedly guest-playing. There were a few Navy players from last year playing PCU, though not many of them. (Copa will be playing in the B-Cup, but in a lower bracket).

DA Players are not allowed to play in tournaments. But I'm sure Westside is above all of this

Starting in August, you are correct.

During the DA off-season, it's perfectly legal.

There is a reason why they call it the off-season.

            And.....

Westside is failing their DA players by putting them through 5 games in 48 hours!
If US Soccer found out they would be pissed. It goes against everything they are trying to build

Don't think US Soccer cares. The Thorns DA isn't following most of the rules either. But why should anyone care? Let them do what they want and enjoy.

To hell with US soccer and their failing program.

You sound like an idiot crying because you think you've been told truth when you've been told crap

Didn't US Soccer design the off season so kids would have a needed rest from soccer? Personally don't care but it is funny to see DA teams using the "off season" to go against everything the DA stands for.

There is a required amount of time off in DA but I don't know that US Soccer has mandated specific dates for it. Some clubs may take it in large chunks.. like all of July, while others may spread it out over the year.

                      Nope
Mandatory time off is the month of July.

No DA player is to play in a tournament that is not sanctioned by the DA.
Surf Cup is the only DA sanctioned event in July.

And besides that who's the dumbasses that puts their kids through five games in 48 hours at a tournament? Those kids are going backwards.

haha such bootlicking. us soccer cares nothing about what any DA players do in the offseason, even though you seem to want them to? please stop spreading confusion via your stockholm syndrome, thx

Better tell that to all these clubs that had DA players playing in SITS, BSC 3v3, WT 4v4, Clash of the Border, etc.. and yes TA players participated in all those too.

Stop- these are 12 year old kids and if they can't play that much in a weekend then they should find something else to do. These limits and "time off" are only good for those who really are not dedicated or who are not athletic enough to truly make it long term. Kids in other countries are playing 24/7

Sounds like you need to travel more.

No other country but Canada and US do it that way.

No country asks players to play five 80 minute matches in two days.
It's a disaster and the main reason why our country sucks at soccer.

Once you get your baseball mind rewired you'll understand

Sorry but you are wrong. Our club has entered it's DA team in several events, and lent players to other teams in the club.

Only after seeking clarification from US Soccer and receiving their blessing.

Against the spirit of DA? Perhaps. Against the letter of the law? Certainly not.
