Spreading the stench across the states.
Not a big fan of exposure in this case.

Not allowing high school really hurts recruiting.
Also I think TA clubs aren’t recommending Thorns Academy because there is nothing in it for them. Do they want their best players to leave the club? No. Plus the Thorns don’t provide anything in return that I know of. No coaching training, no referral fees. Nothing. So you think a DOC is going to recommend the Thorns? They can usually provide a better experience, at least they think.
Most kids who stay at homegrown TA clubs seem happier with their decisions. Thorns are all free agents so out for themselves.

Not really sure what the point of the timbers alliance. Do those clubs get anything from the timbers?

The NWSL Thorns DA has nothing to do with any local clubs, it's a professional teams youth academy and opinions vary of course, but unlike local clubs, they do subsidize it significantly which is a remarkable achievement for a female sport. More power to them.
Did you have a point?

Stupidity doesn't last forever. Folks are wising up on this front.

The last 2 years they have invested over a million dollars in our local girls.
Can't say that about any neighborhood club. Which is telling.
