Not like they are playing the nations best teams in FWRL.

Onxy looking to go 0-3. And to think, those parents thought this team was ready for the big time. Tom probably told them to book flights to the finals before they even went to Seattle. Guess your team just isn't who they think they are.

This is about development. Not even remotely trying to win. I won't even try to explain to you because you wouldn't understand.

Development, ok got it. Good to hear they aren't trying to win since they are doing such a good job of it. Does Tom tell them to not try to win, or do they know to do it on their own?

Our team is exactly what I thought it was, good enough to qualify for Champions playoffs, but not good enough to play with West Coast FC. Game against TSC (#6 team in the country) was a 3-2 battle. Tomorrows game will also be tough

So, 0-3 in all likelihood for a team who the parents thought was one of the best in the country. Funny how a steady diet of non Oregon competition can humble a bunch of parents. Remember when you beat DeAnza and you thought you were the best team in the country? Hopefully you parents now know you judge a team based on a lot of games, not just one.

And we can't even judge the Timbers G98 teams since they all folded about 2 years ago.

Not affiliated, but impressed that Onyx is competing pretty well against the best of the best. It is hard to gauge where a team stands. Preparing and playing against the best will allow this team to grow and develop.

This weekend was about winning. You develop to get to this weekend and you want to advance. They did their best, but didn't advance. More work to do, but don't hide behind 'development' when results don't go your way. It does a disservice to the players and the coaches and teaches your kid to make excuses.

If the coach is now saying 'development' but wasn't before the event, I would worry. If the coach was saying 'development' all along, I would wonder what they are developing for, as this was the biggest stage they have ever seen.

We didn't think we were the best team in the country we just happen to beat the best team on that day

And if you played them 9 more times, the standings would be 1 win and 9 losses. The funny thing is, you parents get on here and crow about big wins, but when you are losing to teams that aren't anywhere near the best in the country, nary a word. Face it, little Onyx was a good team, but not any better than recent good Oregon teams and far from being the one of the best teams ever from Oregon. So when you people are going around crowing about the greatness of Tom, you should realize that he hasn't done a lot more than what other coaches have done.

Did any Oregon team of the same age EVER beat them?

Who knows, but that just means a big fish in a small pond. Something other teams have accomplished. So what's your point?

Better than being a small fish in a small pond...

Would agree with you that 9 times out of 10 DeAnza wins. Every time Onyx has played them it has always been a 1 Goal differential. Onyx best team in Oregon but a long way to go in competing against the top Cali teams
