The OPL doesn't send ECNL teams the ECNL sends ECNL teams. If the OPL had a true relationship with ECNL then you wouldn't see it withering away like it is.

This fall the top four get in next year.
The cool thing is OYSA and RCL and Vancouver Whitecaps are in talks right now working on a structure where all three play in a true youth Cascadia Cup League. It is gaining traction and I really hope it works out

You can't qualify from something that is dead.
I'm sure that the NPL is happy that the OPL is going away. It will make the NPL stronger as the OPL won't be sending teams that get their *****e$ kicked

NWCL doesn't invite based on league results anymore. There are certain clubs that are part of NWCL and their top teams get invited. it's that simple.

Actually the original poster is correct in saying that the OPL and ECNL are two different entities. You don't need OPL to play ECNL.
ECNL teams come from the ECNL league. OPL teams U11-U14 come from OYSA while the OPL tries their best for one final year to hang onto the olders. The OPL is keeping the olders around one more year because the NPL is keeping them around one more year. After this year there will be no track to the NPL accept through PSPL.

Call it what you want but I would rather drive to Seattle for a couple of matches against ECNL teams then drive to bend or medford. Same money spent, it's just one went down a rat hole in central or southern Oregon.
