Actually AH is a family friend and she was committed to FSU prior to her stint with Crossfire Premier (Redmond). She was picked not because of ECNL or FCP rather ODP and how well she did climbing the ODP ladder to the national pool.

Again, So Cal club, coaches literally come to their backyard.

Problem is your daughter plays in OR. If you want to be seen you need ECNL

It is stupid comments like this that ruin the conversation. The worst D1 program in the nation is light years better than high school soccer here in Oregon. And since PSU had an RPI of 142 out of 331 last year, they are far from the worst D1 women's soccer team.

Doesn't matter, they still go to where the quality is. And just because a team says "ECNL", it doesn't mean that there is much quality. In Oregon or elsewhere.

              Very naive and untrue.

Go whine to Angry ECNL Poster who sees the word "Thorns" and gets all sweaty. And if you know some of the recruits to PSU, you would agree that the program is about HS level.

Not untrue. Almost all D1 recruits come from ECNL these days. If you want to increase your odds significantly, play ECNL.

Maybe not "much" quality, but still way more quality than clubs like Thorns Academy, Timbers Alliance, etc.

You have it assbackwards. If you are a D1 level player, then playing ECNL might be better for you (for competition anyway). Just because you are an ECNL player, it doesn't make you a D1 player. Sorry, lots of ECNL players are far from D1 players. And believe it or not, there have been players from Bend, Rogue Valley, Salem, Eugene, ... who played D1. The coaches don't care where you play, they care what kind of player you are.

Actually the TA clubs put more players into college in the 2016 class than did the ECNL teams. Sorry that you are so clueless, probably is the reason why your dd accepted PSU.

Still very naive. Has nothing to do with Thirns, ECNL or anything local. To equate PSU to high school is to say that high school is better than almost 2/3rds of D1 soccer, wow. Who has an agenda now? Yes that would be you making silly unsubstantiated comments like that.

Not my daughter, however, where are all these 2016 recruits from Alliance clubs going? I haven't got the 411 on that, do enlighten us?

Being from one of the places you mentioned above, very very few play D1, and almost all of them played for a Portland Club, either CFO, THUSC, Or FC Portland prior to ECNL. Plus the commits coming up currently for 2016 and 2017 from those areas mentioned above are now in ECNL, yet they commute. The D1 level players tend to seek out the clubs that have the structure to help them get seen.

No one says you cannot do it from smaller clubs, but much tougher road and much rarer. Also, for those rare ones in the middle of no where, hard to tell where they could of gone with the proper exposure. ODP used to provide a great option for these players, however, that is changing as well.

ODP was probably the best way previously. And it still does provide exposure and the ability to showcase your talents. However, the players from those places listed got to D1 and did it well before ECNL. And yes, some came to Portland to play, but some played for their local club teams.

You can still play D1 and not have to play on ECNL. You can guest at top showcase tournaments, you can go to ID camps, you can still make up highlight videos.
