Seems interesting that this is released before the spring league is finalized. As of right now FC and Copa still have to play, and if Copa wins FC won't be first, TT also still has 2 games, if FC loses and TT wins both, FC would be third.

Spring league doesn't matter. It's more or less a rec league to fill the gap between fall and state cup.

If there are 16, it will be 4 groups of 4. Top 2 in each group advance with group winners playing a 2nd place team from a different, predetermined group. Seedings are only used to set the initial groupings.

I don't think the girls playing the games consider it a rec league. Why would you say that? Is your DD's team not doing very well?

Truth. My dd is now U16 but at the younger ages, Spring was used at her club to get minutes for the bench and 'B' team players. I would not give any weight to spring league. The clubs going all out for wins in spring, won't be around after U14.

Went by fall league results last year for sure. Our team didn't play OYSA fall league and was seeded last for state cup. Didn't stop us from going to the finals...

As other posters have noted all seeding is based on fall results. Its right there in the state cup rules. I even think someone put the seeding order in here. Brilliant. So now you have it all. I sure hope no one has a coronary this evening.

                            Fall league results determines seeding.

Then, teams must play in one of the two Spring league Premier divisions to qualify for State Cup.

If you take the finishing order from Fall league, starting with Premier Gold teams, followed by Premier Silver teams, and then finishing with D1 Red teams, and then cross-reference for eligibility with only those teams playing in the two Spring league Premier divisions, you get the following seeding results:

                            1. FC Portland Pre-ECNL
                            2. WT Copa TS
                            3. WA Timbers Red
                            4. THUSC Emerald
                            5. Capital FC Red
                            6. Bend FC
                            7. Eastside Hearts
                            8. Rogue Valley Red
                            9. Tiki Taka
                            10. LOSC Fusion
                            11. WUSC Atletico White
                            12. ETFC Force Black
                            13. FCSC White
                            14. Corvallis SC
                            15. NEU White
                            16. FC Portland Navy

1,8,9,16: FCP Pre-ECNL, RV Red, HSC Tiki Taka, FCP Navy
2,7,10,15: WT Copa TS, Eastside Hearts, LOSC Fusion, NEU White
3,6,11,14: WA Timbers Red, Bend FC, WUSC Atletico White; Corvallis SC

Note that while Rose City and BSC Tiempo finished above NEU ad FCP Navy, they are ineligible for State Cup because they are not currently participating in one of the two Spring Premier level divisions.

Pretty cool if they get 16 teams playing.

Don't have to play spring league to qualify. Just fall OR spring league or FWRL.
