This came from a MA post

Bolts newletter announces the alliance btw Boston Bolts and Bayside FC.

We are pleased to announce that FC Greater Boston and Bayside FC of Rhode Island have joined together to form the Bayside FC Bolts. This relationship will give FCGB an opportunity to work alongside the preeminent club in Rhode Island.

Brian Ainscough, the architect of this relationship, explains his
reasoning: "We want to work with good soccer people who have the same interests, who focus on player development and who has respect for the game. Bayside FC clearly fits this mould".

FC Greater Boston Expands into Rhode Island

FC Greater Boston Expands into Rhode Island - Bayside FC becomes Bayside FC Bolts

We are pleased to announce that FC Greater Boston and Bayside FC of Rhode Island have joined together to form the Bayside FC Bolts. This relationship will give FCGB an opportunity to work alongside the preeminent club in Rhode Island.

Brian Ainsoucgh and John Mark Andrade
FCGB top coaches and their top coaches will work together year round, each sharing their knowledge and experience. This will help with the development of our coaches and players. In addition, teams will train at times together and play friendlies that will help create an
environment for development and positive competition.

Brian Ainscough, the architect of this relationship, explains his
reasoning: "We want to work with good soccer people who have the same interests, who focus on player development and who has respect for the game. Bayside FC clearly fits this mould". John Mark Andrade, Bayside FC President said, "When Brian presented the opportunity to Bayside to affiliate with one of the elite clubs in the country it was something our Club could not pass up. Working alongside the Boston Bolts will prove to be a fantastic experience for both our players and staff." In addition, "Our affiliation will further enhance our player's development and allow them exposure to the USSF Bolts Academy U-16 and U-18 teams. This affiliation, which is the first of its kind for a Rhode Island based Club, will positively impact the Bolts Academy program."

Coach Daley, the Bolts BU16 Academy coach and head coach of Providence, will be hands on with coaching education and player development. Bayside FC Bolts will gain great exposure from the new partnership, which will help Bayside attract the top players in their area. As an Academy club, it will help FCGB attract the top Bayside players for our Full Academy programs. We also plan to host joint tournaments throughout the year.

John Mark Andrade commented, "I appreciate the opportunity that has been presented to Bayside FC by the Boston Bolts. It's an honor to affiliate with a nationally renowned Club. We look forward to working together to develop players and continue the great tradition both Clubs have for years to come."

      So how is this going?

has this helped FC to bring better players in?

      Do they play friendlies?

I would think this experiment must have helped?

      Any FC people here?

For people not involved with Bayside it would be interesting to know how the partnership is working out.

As a Bayside parent, I think that this partnership has only benefitted the players. The teams have had the benefit of being coached and seen by well-known college D1 coaches. They have had the opportunity to play with Bolts players and to attend tournaments with them. In addition, a number of players have been recommended to the National training camp. Nothing but positives in my opinion.

Sounds good - clubs north of CT have to do extra work to help their players and it sounds like FC is getting it done. Region 1 coaches are fairly familiar with players from CT and south because they see them more naturally. Clubs who go the extra mile for their players should be commended for taking their job seriously.

The Bayside teams that we played against have had better players and been better coached than the Bolt teams we've played.

It was 4-1 and a bayside U14 player played for the bolts team scored and had a asst. He will be joining the bolts this season. Looks like afil is paying off! Was fun to watch.
