Yes. One way or another.
Our club has some events that are planned and within the budget, so the club pays. (Which means the parents pay, duh.) Other events come up and if we want to do them, it's an extra cost for the tournament and for the coaches' costs.
A tax deduction isn't worth much.
I can only hope the people posting here are the few disgruntled ones. I hope most people appreciate that the really good coaches aren't getting paid enough to give what they give - but they give it anyway. If you don't feel like the coaches are people you respect and appreciate and value -then you need to find another club where that is true. Or maybe get out of club soccer.

I know you understand how a business works (revenue - expenses = EBITDA), so ultimately the customer pays for everything. Are you really asking what the best practices are for all-in vs. ala carte pricing? Built-in tourney fees vs optional? Greater Transparency for expected costs (tuition, kits, tourney fees, camps, clinics)? These are all great discussions to have, but there is no debate that all travel costs for club employees are valid expenses.
