They did and are on par with the likes of LISC, CSA, Ukranian etc. So in other words they are a good fit for GA. The league does not have a choice but to plug holes so they’ll unfortunately lose some clubs at the top and add some at the bottom. The problem is they are a hike for NE teams.

Some of their teams had -100+ goal differential. Yes GDA was a stronger league but also what are the odds the club has drastically improved?

I see a lot of bashing but I don't see any alternative for good soccer players in NJ besides PDA Blue and they don't have room for every good player.. Every other elite team is about the same. Not many alternatives to GA. in NJ

Reality is there aren't many good clubs not already in ECNL or even GAL. Volume isn't always better, but in both cases there are a few geographic holes to fill that make some sense. Empire United makes no sense geographically or from a quality standpoint.

PSA, Real, Philly Copa, Albany, LI Surf - all better clubs with better teams than Empire and would reduce travel which would be a benefit. Maybe any RI team to help in the upper new england area?

You’re kidding right? You think GAL would add township clubs like Real and Philly Coppa that would embarrass half the existing clubs by blowing them out? It’s all about business and turf protection not about playing against “the best”.

They would add them if it would make them stronger because their success would be GA success. Your logic doesn’t make sense. Once they are added they become part of the GA.
