It's like some of you don't know how to use the OYSA website. Start here.

You're lucky your kid is getting to play games in a pandemic and OYSA is doing the best they can under countless challenges to provide something. Your seeding may not be technically accurate...but let's have some perspective please. First of all, lower seeded teams often surprise people during State Cup. My kid's team did multiple years because during their regular season they had kids missing for other sports or (later on) work, but when State Cup came they got serious and that was their main priority, so they beat teams they had previously lost to or tied. Second, if you want to win State Cup quit worrying about seeding and just beat everyone on your schedule. If you aren't good enough to beat everyone, or at least beat enough teams to make the knockout rounds and then beat everyone, you don't deserve to win State Cup. You shouldn't be relying on seeding to give you an easier path. Finally - do you really think a State Cup trophy is going to mean much in terms of defining the "best" teams this year? If you do, you're crazy. This is the year where every team that can stay healthy and get games in should take that as the victory that matters.

Even in non pandemic years it hasn’t been fair so it’s just the way it is. Some teams only get two games while others get 3 or even 4. Seeding has often been messed up for the same reasons as this year of not playing everyone in your bracket the same number of times or not at all. In addition, if a better team plays in say RCL instead of oysa, then they are seeded last and end up knocking out the top team in their bracket early on. It’s never been fair but this year the teams will be so happy to get to play that they won’t care.
Next year, 3 more clubs will be out of OYSA and off to GAL. State Cup will matter in the grand scheme of things even less. Just enjoy the soccer for what it is.
