Come Monday Vermont falls off the list of safe states. The noose tightens a bit more. The spring season will be like the fall.

The state needs the cash. The $500 per head fine is easy money.
This is not happening. You are making it up.

If you left the state you’ll find out.

Just talked with a CT friend who spent a good part of his holiday weekend hauling his kids up here for a hockey tournament. If teams aren't supposed to travel some are doing a funny job of showing it. I went to CT to visit a favorite aunt (distanced outside of course). MA plates all over the CT roads.

Why would Mass plates not be all over CT roads? You act like they enacted a law where that's forbidden.

Conversely VT can't afford to start banning out of staters - ski season

                    From Mass.gov site ....

Vermont removed as lower-risk, effective 12:01AM on November 28, 2020)
Lower-risk state list last updated: November 27, 2020

Thus anyone spending this Thanksgiving weekend in Vermont has to either self quarantine for 14 days or have a COVID test which is negative.

The only low risk state at this point is Hawaii for purposes of determining whether a 14 day quarantine is required upon returning to Massachusetts.

But is there a 24 hour rule? A lot of states are doing that - basically as long as you didn't stay overnight you don't have to quarantine. The ski resorts will get crushed if MA/CT/NY/NJ residents can't go. Of course plenty will break the rules, but will follow the rules to really hurt them. And who wants to ski Butternut all winter?

                          From Mass.gov

                          21. Other states’ travel restrictions include exemptions for trips that last less than 24 hours. Does Massachusetts have a similar exemption?

No, there is no specific exemption for trips that last less than 24 hours. Such short trips may be covered by exemptions like the ones for transitory travel or commuting for work or school. The full list of exemptions is here. Travelers arriving from places other than lower-risk States must fill out the Travel Form and self-quarantine or obtain a negative test result if they do not meet one of these exemptions.

$500 per day fine if you don’t follow the restrictions. Plus most schools issued notices that children will be remote for 14 days if they visit a high risk state on Thanksgiving weekend.
