$290 what an absolute rip off!

Agreed and there's no try out which makes it even worse for thebkids that are already at a high level that want to do attend.

This is about $60/day and $20/hr. Not a ripoff at all.

I agree - the summer RDS prices are pretty good.

However, the other poster that said that the summer player pool is weaker than the fall and spring is also correct - from what I saw, the summer groups are noticeably weaker - I wish the RDS people would do something to steer the beginner players to the non-RDS camps.

I would stay well away or ask for all the safety protocols which they are doing. These guys (Centercourt) tried to keep practice on during a pandemic.

Agree that with these camps not requiring try-outs or participation in the in-season RDS training probably makes these camps less valuable. The residential RDS camps have higher-level players.

Did RDS in winter wasn’t impressed at all, spent way to much time on a step over

Really? D did RDS for 4 years and not once did they do step over drills.

RDS winter has two sessions. The first is mostly on the individual drills while the second is more about the 1v1, offense and defense. It is beneficial to attend both to get the most out of it. The hours in winter are slightly less, fewer weeks in each session to accommodate people's vacation but they are also slightly cheaper. RB is very keen on maintaining the right coach-player ratio so usually players get good exposure and experience.

Our RDS winter session happened to be at a new location so not too many people were aware of it and the number of players were low. Red Bulls brought their pre-academy girls to train with us so we had enough players. It made the session competitive and challenging. I do think Red Bulls put a lot of thoughts in these trainings.

RDS has two types of sessions (Fall/Spring/Winter, never attended Summer so can't comment): tryout-based and just pay-to-play. Tryout-based players are more committed. Pay-to-play sessions are for players who are still developing a sense of competitiveness. The price is almost the same so I would go for tryout-based sessions whenever possible. It is a shame that this Summer, those tryout-based sessions are all cancelled and only pay-to-play ones remain.

Also, not all residential camps in Summer require tryout. Normally they offer both to cater for different level of players. This year RB decided to cancel all Residential camps, tryout or not, and only to keep the day camp.

From our experience the easiest tryout to get in is the second session in Winter because most of teams have started their own winter training. The hardest one is the first winter session because almost no other options during that time (around the holidays). Fall and Spring sessions fall on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) are usually more challenging to get in since it is less likely to conflict with the regular training schedule and more players sign up.

There is a way to get around the harder tryouts: RB considers you "pass" if you had the tryout within 18 months. If you can get through one easier tryout, you're good to go for the other sessions. Of course if the players can't keep up, he/she will still get frustrated.

No thanks. Too much COVID. Maybe next year though.

Each winter session is for fewer weeks but they cost the same as the fall and spring cycles so winter costs more per hour.

But it's still very good training and still an OK price given the quality of the trainers and most of the players.

Better value and training than TFA camps and others

Not too sure about value for money when kids are wearing pinnies on your current camps which is not allowed. Red Bull’s beware these guys love to cut Corners just take a drive past the Chatham camp you will see that !
