    What’s with the US development

Academy full of non us citizens, looking at player rosters it’s full of proud non us nationals. Which iam fine with, but we are developing these kids to play on the national teams of various South American countries. Isn’t the DA the pathway to US national team rosters. It’s strange to me that if they are dual citizens then represent USA it’s called respect

Look out bro. Now every sheep with a soft spot for illegals is going to come crawling out of the woodwork onto you. They are going to be deeply offended that you're suggesting the U.S. NOT give the entire rest of the world opportunity for no reason.

    You have been warned. :(

Actually, he didn't say anything about illegals - you can be in this country legally and not be a citizen. Bottom line id you shouldn't worry - as long as teams charge an arm and a leg, your pasty white, athletically challenged, kid will still get a spot on the bench and five minutes of meaningless playing time.

Take it easy this poster didn’t say anything about illegals. I think he said he though it was fine but questioned which country they were representing

What are you complaining about? Have you looked into the citizenship of these players, or are you going by "foreign-sounding names." Actually, the MLS DA rosters are almost entirely US citizens. Because of the FIFA rule on "no international transfers for players under age of 18" and the "Prior to 10" rule (the international clearance process is required when any foreign-born player over the age of 10 is attempting to register with an affiliated club in the United States, regardless of that player's ability or citizenship)... These rules prevent first contact with non-citizens under 18, or the club can face stiff sanctions, including a transfer ban (that's what happened to Barcelona a few years back).
The freedom of employee movement under the EU allows European academies much more freedom for registering international players (as long as the 'international' is within the EU), so you'll see a higher portion of their academies made up of international players.

The world has changed. I see Asian players in the premiere league now, something that I don't ever remember seeing. Soccer is an international sport, not a Trump rally. You will find foreign players everywhere these days.

If those kids are developed here, they will never make it in South America. But, they are better than the rich white kids in the USA!

If you have a kid good enough to maybe make it as a professional why on earth would you want them trained here? If you can have your kid trained in Central or South America or Europe do it!

Funny, but most of the South American kids I see in Florida are fat and can’t play, but their parents think they are the next Ronaldo. For the most part, kids from gritty environments, white, black or hispanic seem to make it in pro sports. South American families that have moved to the USA are looking for a better life, and with a better life comes comfort, and with comfort comes complacency.

There is ZERO chance of a family that got their kids out of Central or South America of going back. European clubs don't care about your race or background, they just care if you can play. Enjoy the USA and focus on education, as that is main reason why you came to this country if you have kids.

Enthusiastic fathers, dressing their young sons in Neymar PSG shirts, screaming from the sidelines at their fat South American kids, won’t make them better. I see it every weekend, it's funny.

I agree with everything in your post. and the kids would much rather play fortnite than soccer. Also, don't think half or more of the "rich South americans" are all that rich. most drive expensive cars but have nothing in the bank. they also think that bc kids are in united states, academics and success will come, no matter what. no clue at all how hard it is to get into top schools academically, and how much that decision impacts earning power the rest of your life.

Agree. Also agree with other poster that the South American soccer moms are making practice better. Fake boobs, tight bodies, yoga pants and sports bras at soccer practice make the soccer experience better for us all.
