There is kids on DA that shouldn’t be there!!!
You want your kid on DA you better start picking your friend wisely and make sure you bank account is loaded!

Academy and Academy teams pay an extra fee, I am told, in part to participate in speed, agility, and conditioning training before each practice. However, most of the time, I'm told, those kids are standing around and are not well conditioned. When we have played against the teams, you can see the Weston kids in the pre-academy tiring out very quickly. That seems to suggest that they are not conditioned and that it is a huge waste of money to pay for that additional program.

However, I realize that this thread is not about that but instead it is about promotions based on smoke and mirrors and backroom deals and1 friendships. What seems to be important, as the Silverback glass shows, is that the best way to move up to the academy is to not play for Weston to begin with. Playing for Weston, absolutely hurt your chances of moving up and there can be no question about that. Other programs appear to train the kids harder and Weston is more interested in recruiting kids from other clubs and teams then promoting from within.

Weston sells the DA where the place most talents kids should be awesome!... but at the same time has a PRE ACADEMY that doesn’t develop their own players to put them on DA.
Weston depends on ID camp tryouts to fill the DA roster.
Something is not working on the youth ages program and people are starting to notice.

The best thread by far. People finally seeing what Weston is about.. Reality for all those parents that WASTED money on PA and DA. If you are smart you don't consider ONLY DA/ ENCL or any of that to the kid about u12 and above. More u14 if you ask me. Put them in that system and they wont be noticed by the time they are U14. Be on the bottom barrel, better get your playing time somewhere and go against hard teams and play your (*&(*& off and eventually go there if your serious after.

PA doesn't work is a way to make money and all of us know maybe 1-3 players from PA on that division will be moved up the rest will be scouted on ID camp, which in fact we all know come from other teams, where Weston hasn't developed them.

I am happy that someone started this thread. For that particular team, the fastest kid on the team and usually the fastest kid on the field, who previously played for West Pines and scored lots of goals, who also has scored goals the occasional few times he has played his normal position of left Midfield, plays on defense in favor of the director of coaching son playing Left Midfield as a starter.

While I am sure that the program would defend placement in those positions with what may on its face look like reasonable arguments, there really can be no other explanation other than political favoritism.

When we played against that team, I was happy to see that there fastest kid and goal scoring machine was not playing up front. It made our team’s life a lot easier.

What do you think was going to be offered. and next year those La academia teams will go to Weston as well for DA and guess where the existing DA and PRE DA will be. Black and white team.

Weston has been that for a while.... They don't respect their players or want to keep them its more the players want to play under the shield and keep getting pushed lower and lower and all happy Weston won. The new real Weston Players are those coming from ID camps and other DA programs to theirs. Weston doesn't develop and care for their own.

They put the average ones on PRE DA and more than half never play DA but that's the illusion they get sold on. Next season on those ID camps they will pick next year DA where existing players have no say or pick.

Lots of whining. FE is a damn good coach. He knows the game and can make your kid alot better. That's all that matters.

As far as DA, all DAs have an obligation (imposed by USSF) to seek out the best players in their market. That's the idea. Call it pre or Black, all players on these teams are very good, but no one is guaranteed to be among the best in the target market. Some of the 03 black kids are behind BNT players. They wait their time. Next year some of the BNT level players may move on, and there may be a chance. or these kids improve and make the u16/u17 DA as u17s. None of this is "promised" or guaranteed."

Are there politics? yes. selection mistakes? yes again. but rarely more than 2 or 3 per roster.

Last, are we really talking about 2008s in 2007 DA? Get some perspective. Its 3 years before you play any DA games that have any real meaning.
