Ben plays for the genk b team. European academies do scout in the US. There are several US players in European academies. A huge barrier is that many US players don't have European Union passports. The lucky ones with dual citizenship go to trials regularly in Europe and many are playing there now

There are 10 of millions and millions of soccer players. It’s the number one most difficult ‘job’ to break into with the most global competition. Ben’s doing great.

And you don’t need a European passport to play there. That’s not how it works.

"Going abroad" abroad and NOT playing is the worst served plan. Need to play to improve, most parents understand that simple concept.

But that assumes you have a job there, valid work visa etc. Or you're loaded and just afford to move and get residency. Neither are so easy to pull off. Then if you have other kids, is it fair to take them abroad just for the one kid? What if you own your own business here that can't be left to someone else to run? There's many reasons why more players don't try it (besides the fact that few are good enough).

That’s right. Some people’s jobs require a move to a different country. But some parents do some crafty things to get their kid to the EU.
