I agree with you and they can just wear a shirt and make it a photo op which is still an honor. But, to act like your signing a legal contract for athletic money is disingenuous just like it would be for someone going D1 or D2 with no money and therefore no contract to sign

The whole thing is wierd. Are they going to do photo ops for the kids admitted for academic prowess?, Marching band?, Ballet?, Robotics stars? What is with the athlete photo ops for where they will attend college?

I don't have the answers but looking at the situation it seems out of wack. My kid is great at soccer and loves it like every other ts reader. I try to combat this over glorification of athletic prowess with a hard dose of reality and it would be nice to get some back up from the school districts. Also Glorify other hard work that can lead to greater future success imo.

The business and math majors are the ones profiting. Are these athletes being taken advantage of when the ling term financial rewards going to students focused academically.

"I, (first and last name), have been accepted to (name of school), an NCAA Division III institution. In addition to my academic responsibilities, I intend to participate in the sport(s) of (name of sport(s) during the (year) academic year. "
also note a caveat at the end of the form:
"This form commemorates my choice to attend (name of institution). By signing this form, I embrace the Division III philosophy. I also understand my signature neither obligates me to attend the institution, noted above, and participate in athletics nor does it guarantee me a roster position. "
Who knows which Div III schools use the actual NCAA template, but I would imagine all of them use something similar. NCAA Div III website also warns against using these before a student is officially admitted as the real content of this form is acknowleding the student is admitted.
