Yes, she is 6, so we cut her a break. When she is 8 we will only allow shorts and short sleeves .... no gloves, hats, or under armor .... and no blankets or jackets on the side lines.

Does it matter if the "top" teams are showing up when asking this question? There will be hundreds of families with excellent, good, and poor players showing up. Field conditions, parking, and conditions are appropriate questions regardless of the level. Good luck winning your lower bracket and paying tolls.

                      It's an excellent regional showcase.

Is that a joke? Plenty of lousy soccer will be played at Jeff cup. Why travel to Virginia to play crappy soccer? Might as well stay local.

Jeff Cup has decent divisions so that games are well matched. College coaches can skip the lower divisions and focus on the stronger ones. The reasons to travel to VA include better weather, well-matched competition, competition that you do not already play all the time, oh, and it's a stronger frikken tournament with better college representation.

Well, NEFC has Southern Connecticut State University, D11, University of Hartford, and other Connecticut educational strongholds like Central Connecticut State University in attendance, as well as the usual mass of Mass and NH schools. Local interest from strong local schools for the win!

Thank you for acknowledging the fact that there are lower level teams. Yes a reason to go is for nicer weather, BUT don’t tell me the best teams go. The best still reside in ECnL/DA. Sure there are some really good teams going but not the best. If I was to guess, completely blind admittedly, majority of players in NewEngland stay around here. No reason to go to va to get scouted by a college team you will never play for.

Most high level players will not be found off of a tournament like Jeff Cup. Clubs get more notoriety by being well represented by there own being recruited/signed by a college. Look at stars/NEFC twitter feeds. They announce it to the world immediately. My point is clubs have established relationships with schools like BC, Providence, Syracuse, BU, UNH. The top players are being scouted thru there season and regional/national playoffs. Jeff cup is a good tourney but let’s not go crazy.
