    That's it.

BTW, US Soccer has scholarships for the truly needy in the DA program both boys and girls.

    You are hopeless.
Hopeless is saying with a straight face that your program is accessible to needy kids while simultaneously charging a $125 tryout fee.

You need more help than just a 'program'.

        It's true

GW dismantled OYSA Years ago. Then, when he couldn't turn the OPL into a Timber revenue stream, he revived OYSA as a false front run by Timbers. Then someone at OYSA embezzled funds and now the community is asking questions, especially in light of the Timbers attempted power play with GDA. It will be very ugly for Timbers if light is shined in all the corners, but in the good old USA, $ prevails. Conniving millionaires are after all, millionaires.

I think the excessive try out fee was a very bad idea.

It's not an argument, the Timbers MLS DA has no competitor from the local club market after 5 years of attracting the best Oregon has to offer from all the local clubs.

The Thorns NWSL DA will evolve into the same tier as the MLS Timbers DA within a year or two. You can't stop it unless you can remove the Timbers/Thorns and US Soccer. Which you can't.

It's subsidized and sponsored by US Soccer. No club in our area has that distinction.
Let me stop you there. Your boys academy does not have all the best players in the area and if you continue on your path you will lose even more. If I was in your shoes I would be as quiet as possible. If anyone in the entire organization would look up from the stacks of money you are screwing this market out of to actually see the disaster occurring on the field, at all levels, of the youth academy we might be able to get somewhere with some changes. all the hatred and vial discourse on all the boys threads would go away and you might actually have some legs to stand on if the results were better. Unfortunately that's not the case and you have made it abundantly clear that you do not give a rip because there are still enough dilusional parents that want to say their kid plays for the "Timbers Academy". There will always be "bubble player" debates, but what cannot be debated is the Timbers continually getting in bed with rich parents so there rec level kids can be on the team. This year you have gone to a whole different level with the 05 fiasco. All the anti/hatred/antagonistic comments towards your organization (call it what you want) are just and you did it to yourselves.

Regardless it's all paid for and kids flock to be part of it. How you feel is your unique disposition. The stacks of monies are being spent on local kids by the Timbers/Thorns. The only people being screwed out of monies are the ones who don't make the DA level and spend their hard earned monies to feed the clubs staffers who can't find work and pretend they are pro youth coaches in the talent rich suburbs of Portland. Being a leftover in Oregon sucks.

                Approval
The contract was never approved by the OYSA Board or OYSA members. Many board members had not seen the contract until recently.
                No-bid/no RFP process.
The contract was signed by John Madding and Mike Smith.

                OYSA President's Observations
OYSA’s president believes OYSA had no leverage with the Timbers.
OYSA’s president characterized Timbers’ as threatening during negotiations: the Timbers would create their own league if OYSA did not sign the contract.

                Copy of Contract
OYSA will not share the contract with clubs, citing the non-disclosure provisions in the agreement.

                Terms
                The contract is 10-yrs.
Exclusive for state cup, state cup qualifying leagues, ODP.
Has no meaningful service level standards.
Timbers pay nothing for branding associated with state cup and the leagues; however they do cover some expenses related to OYSA staff attending regionals.

                Profitability
Profits from leagues, ODP and state cup are retained by the Timbers.

                Summary
OYSA president characterizes the contract as a bad one that he would not have signed.
This needs to be bumped up.
