Originally posted by Unregistered View PostNearly all of the top shelf clubs & NWSL academies elected to be part of the DA, after selection, it was a no brainier. As for the balance of their next level teams within a club they can 'pay to play' in any USYS or US Club league that will take them, since only the best players & squads in the club get into the DA. As you mention So Cal best's (which happen's to be our nation's collection of most elite clubs, teams & players) are in the DA.
Power house Real Colorado ECNL lost more games in the first weekend of play than all of last year. This new dynamic should make the lower shelf ECNL clubs much more competitive.

It’s fun to drop 12 goals on a team in one game.
That’s bad. Hopefully it gets better.

How about Slammers (now LAFC for DA)?
There DA teams are their #1 team.
So Cal Blues is mixed only because some of the players are scholarship HS players and are required to play HS soccer.
I am not a fan of what US soccer did with the DA because they basically split the talent this year.
What you are saying about California keeping all of there top teams in is incorrect. Just take a look at the teams and roster.
The argument that DA and ECNL people are having is quite stupid. In most cases, players did not really choose. They went with whatever their club went with. I don't think most people sought out DA or ECNL. They are looking at clubs.

And those are wavering and kept their "A" teams in ECNL as is. GDA is far from the highest level of girls soccer in the USA, in Oregon it's actually 4th behind ECNL, OYSA, and Rec.
