That's like two food cart vendors who decided to pool resources and make a double wide cart offering a menu of fast food with fine dining prices (Crossfire United). Then one of the owners decides to leave the double wide venture and joins on as a chef at Roe's.

    Huh?
Hearns did not abandon her only partner club. She has been taking paid positions in several parts of Oregon soccer for many years: THUSC, Crossfire United, ODP, Portland State Univ, and now the GDA. It's tough to make a living as a soccer coach, so many avenues of income are needed -- a lot of coaches teach privates on the side as well.

If you review the latest coaching assignments for CU ECNL, Hearns remains as a staff coach (not a head coach) for all teams 2005 through '99/'00 - thus your 'abandon' comment is off-base. It is hard to criticize Hearns for wanting to work hard regardless of the club/platform.

One could argue a conflict of interest given her continued support of ECNL while taking a new position of the GDA. She will need to be careful not to recruit kids to either program. But if she is promoting the love of the game and teaching youth to play better soccer while earning a larger paycheck, then the benefit goes to the kids and herself. She didn't design this quagmire that we call Oregon Youth Soccer - she is merely navigating the landscape and using her entrepreneurial spirit to make a living.

Sounds like she can't find a full time job with her skill set.

Oregon is so messed up we create a cottage industry for soccer bums.

      Disgusting

"Clubs may not charge a registration fee for tryouts, which includes fees for equipment, apparel or etc."

I bet they get a ton of people trying out if it's free.

I'm sure GDA will be fine footing the bill until TA club's start providing much of the funding for GDA with the increased player card fees. Thanks for the generosity TA clubs!

That is great if it's free.

They already tried to run the OPL on their own. But, it got real boring when they only had 2 other teams in their entire league. Crossfire!! That is funny.

Alliance left, our membership missed playing them.

After watching what's happened, not sure if benefits of playing alliance clubs outweighs the problems with playing in a Peregrine league.
