Problem at Hand lies with the players/parents. Shelby and Ashley want to play AAU basketball (you have a checkbook and you play), so the soccer powers of the past are gone. Parents think that players that show up in September and dont play at highest levels (ECNL/NPL, etc) can still crush teams who have players that commit to the sport. This is the mew normal for Madison. No more Cup champions, no more glory. Watered down talent will only go so far. Starts with kids, not the coaches.

Madison Girls will be fine. Boys are doing very well and will likely make another run this year. Girls lost a couple that graduated and two seniors who would have been starters elected not to play this Fall. They are young and will have to regroup this year.

The conference is down this year. Guilford and Mercy seem to be good but will pad their wins against the conference teams. All SCC teams will be early outs in state tournament

This may be true only because Shelton has Marvin, Mercy a bunch of over rated FSA players and Hand's lack of a coach. I actually heard the Hand coach yell 'only forward'. Ar eyou kidding me?

Mercy plays Guilford this week at home. Should be a good game even though mercy’s field sucks.(unless they made changes this year). It has baseball dirt on one corner and dirt spots on field.
