This game was the tale of two halfs. The first half both teams looked sloppy, but Washington Timbers was getting the better of the two and scored an early 6th or 7th minute goal by #15. The right back for FC was pushed way up out of position and when their center back (ex TA) made a challenge and lost it was 1v1 with the keeper (FC's backup. the #1 keeper played on the field in a soft cast). The first half did not see many shots on goal from either team, but the ball spent more time on the Timbers attacking end.

FC drew even in the first couple of minutes of the 2nd half when a shot from the 18 yd hit the crossbar and came down just a couple of yards from the goal line. #14 from FC was first to react netting an easy header while the keeper was on the ground after spreading all out in effort to stop the first shot. Now 1-1, FC seemed to dominate possession much of the next 30 minutes. Washington's keeper had a great game and saved probably about 10 shots in the 2nd half. Although they lost, I would say he was the MVP of the match by far. He could only stop so many though and in about the 70th minute, #19 from FC broke away from the pack with the ball down the right sideline and #1 (goalkeeper with soft cast) made a run up the middle. With both #19 & #1 behind Washington's backline, the cross came in and the goalkeeper scored a goal. 2-1 FC.

The last 10 minutes it appeared that FC though that they had the game won and looked very slow and sloppy just like they did in the 1st half. Washington had some chances in the final 10 minutes, but just couldn't net another goal. Perhaps if the game were 90 minutes they would've tied it.

I was there and would have to agree that this is a pretty fair assessment, although the op failed to mention one thing............MS was not at the game and would have produced a very different outcome had he been there!

You are hereby yellow-carded for whining about missing players at a game.

So it's confirmed that WashT is a wonder kid surrounded by a bunch of wannabees.

On the other side FCP was missing 3 starters and one of their better players suffered an injury requiring the backup keeper to play striker.

But let's live in What If Land.

I'm pretty sure that WashT had their full roster, including the aforementioned wonder kid, when Westside kicked their teeth in the prior weekend.

Washington Timbers are a good club. They generally do things the right way, even when it costs them games. But God, some of their parents are completely off their meds.

Whoa chill out Westside Mom ...losing by 1 goal is hardly getting your teeth kicked in...FC should know what getting their teeth kicked in feels like after that 8-3 loss last May to WaT

What have you done lately? Why is everyone fixated on the past it has no bearing on this year. And it’s true 1 or 2 high end players can drastically change the make up of a team. The loss of SJ has been huge for the washington timbers imho and they have not found anyone to replace his energy and overall game based what I have seen the times we played them...

This is funny. The current FC squad (coach included), could care less about that score last year since they weren't even with the team. There are only four players on the current roster that were on the roster when that beat down happened.

Indeed. Much of the current FC DA squad was, instead, routinely beating the snot out of Red2 last year, as was most everyone else in OYSA premier.

Yep! And now they are either drawing with, or beating the Wa Timbers DA squad! Talk about development ;)

Still don’t think losing by 1 goal qualifies as getting your teeth kicked in 🙄

I’m surprised Westside had any teeth left going into the game after they got their teeth kicked in by Capital 😂 and FCP
