That’s good because they are making a training team. Those kids won’t play in any real games all year and won’t go to the showcase but will get to help scrimmage the top 05s. Also a few friendlies against Crossfire's “B” Team.

By “they” didn’t mean the Vantucky boys, meant TA. They are making a reserve team. Lots of kids will make it. None of the current team even have to attend tryouts. The tryouts are for the reserve team.

That field is embarrassing- I would think someone would have some pride and get that mowed to shorter than 4-5” and the long clippings that have been cut either blown or raked off not laying on the field in clumps. Can’t imagine anyone likes playing on that even the westside kids...

Quick recap. Crossfire scored the game's only goal on a counter-attack two minutes in. After that, both sides had their chances, but both defenses held. Westside had a few good runs, but Crossfire generally was sharper (first to 50/50 balls, etc).

Both coaches subbed liberally in the second half, replacing key starters, and both teams came close to (but weren't able to) take advantage.

And yes, the grass is a bit too long, and the field a bit uneven. It was mowed since last week, but it was more rough than fairway.

Next week Westside heads across the street to take on FC. Should be an interesting game coming right after tryouts...

There have been lots of rumors to that affect, but I'm not privy to anything in particular. Obviously, SE moving back to Westside might attract some kids over. Lots of suggestions made here, but some of them are probably wishful thinking.

Will be interesting to see who shows up for tryouts on Wednesday.
