The web site looks like 2011 boys can try out.

If a 2011 boy makes it, do they have 2 years to make the next step or only one?
Honestly, I would just call them and talk it out. They have the possibility of taking new kids each year (they have kids that leave).

They do not get 2 years to make the next step, they are not guaranteed a spot. RB will continue to bring in other top players to fit their needs. If your child doesn't develop they will be gone after 1 year.

Absolutely correct, you will be replaced if your kid is not good enough. It’s a brand and once you get to the end of U11 doesn’t matter if you have been with them for years you will be cut if a better kid comes in. RDS has nothing to do with the actual academy it’s a money maker, just like the RDS program which are extremely over priced for average coaching. Stick with your town/club where you can continue to play with friends and enjoy a non pressured environment. My son has been to an RDS clinic this winter and they had over 30 kids inside the gym which clearly shows they are all about one thing and this is during covid.

RB has been known to kick kids out after 6 months, nevermind 2 years. Making that jump has to be when you're ready.

Academy environment is cut throat. Pre-academy they give kids time to develop.

What's the point of trying out for the girls side? If no academy teams I just don't see the point.

It's a preacademy program for now. Your kid develops there in an environment that isn't centered on winning i.e. they don't play kick and run soccer and blindly play they biggest and fastest kids just to keep their jobs. Every year they talk about starting a girls academy, but it doesn't happen. Your kid gets to the end of the program and then moves on to another club that they help place you in. Not terrible, but obviously a lot of people want more.

If you trash Red Bull’s you’re a hater...if you praise them you are a suck up. The most honest answer is to look at the U14, U15 and U16. How many of those kids started on Pre-Academy? I would say maybe 4 or 5 kids. Definitely the hugest percentage of their academy roster come from pre academy but it’s still a low percentage. If your kid is happy and is progressing just leave him there. It is a marathon not a sprint. Once you get to academy level it gets extremely cut throat between parents and that translates to the kids. For every success story they have there are 5 kids who they ruined to get there. And if your kid does make it and chooses college over a contract they get nothing for their investment...so who do you think they are going to favor from the U16/17 roster? If you as a parent can deal with the off the behind the scenes stuff your son, should he have the ability to stay will have a clear path to a major D1 roster at minimum.

You are correct at the academy they will replace you kid if he is not cutting it or if the bring in a better player. What people are not mentioning here is that the academy is fully funded so you wouldn't have to pay one dollar out of pocket. That includes any travel .

My daughter is trying out and will accept if offered. Girls had lots of talent at the tryout.
