If you can’t get the base of snow/ice to a quarter inch you will have a tough time with melting, especially if you don’t have sun or warmer temps, it all depends on the weather after plowing. If you have a thick ice base you have to wait for it to melt before it is safe for players, and that can take time depending on the weather. Also, if you get dumped with over a foot of snow and the forecast shows another significant snow coming, then it might be best to plow after the second snow event.

There is a BIG difference between a club that has their own turf fields and a company that rents turf fields. The club is going to minimize the risk of damage and the company will make an effort to keep the money flowing. No state or tournament is going to be upset with a club that makes the decision not to plow their turf.
Capelli and CSA are one and the same so I don’t get it they own the fields/complex.

And FC Delco and Proving Grounds are NOT one in the same, Proving Grounds rent field space to those willing to pay for field space. Penn Fusion and FC Delco are NOT one in the same with USTC, although Penn Fusion put a little money into USTC, USTC is about renting field and indoor space first. Money is lost when USTC and PG are not open, and they are open to anyone that wants to pay! Capelli doesn't live or die off of field rentals, the risk and time involved of plowing isn't always worth it. Capelli CSA are a club, USTC and PG are companies making money off of field rentals.

Soccer isn’t meant to be played in single digit temperatures - and it still a dead period for D1 makes no sense just reschedule.
        Single digit temperatures?

Interesting that the ECNL canceled their tournament in TEXAS this weekend bc of the forecast which no doubt is still better than ours in PA - yet the fusion showcase is still on - makes a lot of sense.

Not a big deal for this weekend only about 3 inches. Should be easy to clear.

What does Texas have to do with PA conditions? The roads are fine. The temps are fine. Play on.

You’re lucky you ain’t in Texas. 22 degrees with a low of 8 and snowing/icing right now. Yet the GA unlike ECNL decided to keep their showcase on. Lots of pissed off people.

The Capelli Complex and Cedar Stars Monmouth are two separate companies.
Capelli Complex rents out to anyone and maintains the fields.
