When a parent asks if parents are still on the bandwagon of ECNL over GA the answer will always be yes. ECNL is the top platform for girls soccer, period. The platform is there for individual players to show their talent at ECNL Showcases and tournaments. If you build a league like ECNL then it has fulfilled their obligation and top colleges from all over the country will come to those events and see players who have contacted them or attended a specific college clinic or camp. This forum argues over who is better between STA or SJEB vs. a MatchFit or PDA team. Who cares? What matters and the bigger question is will your daughter get identified thru the ECNL platform. If not then does it really matter what league or team she plays for? So yes ECNL matters.

As much as thrse leagues are about exposure, i think many kids are equally motivated to be on a good team, playing the best level they can and competing for wins. My own definitely talks about the exposure for college but talks iust as much about team goals and wanting to win games and make playoffs.

ECNL doesn't fill every college spot that's open each year, not even close. There's still many opportunities outside of ECNL, it just may take more work to get noticed and probably your entire roster won't all get recruited. Some ECNL clubs are crap and ultimately you're paying for coaching. A few GAL clubs and coaches are still very good and the league may be a perfect fit for individual players.

Have to respect GA for that vs ECNL, they focus on more realistic options. We have zero D1 commits for our 03s so far but honestly nothing wrong with that.

I would pick a top 20 D3 program from a well established university from an academic standpoint than to pick a D1 college that you picked just because they play D1 soccer. Would you really pick a D1 that is not in the top 50 or even 100 over a top 20 D3 program?
