    GA Showcase schedule

Has anyone seen the GA showcase schedule for this weekend at Tuckahoe? Do not see anything posted yet on EDP website...is the event still on?

Why would a GA showcase be posted on EDP's site? The 1st GA event isn't until March and it's in SoCal. The only one in Jersey isn't until end of April and it's for u13/u14.

Now if you are talking about the EDP Fall Showcase which is this weekend at the farm then

Couple of teams still at EDP, and a couple pulled out.

Our club indicated we were playing in a GA event at EDP Tuckahoe tourney but still awaiting schedule, so not published yet. Maybe teams are pulling out.

That’s a real shame opportunity lost yet again especially in the new GA which has a lot to prove to catch up to ECNL.

Blame the ridiculous new Executive Orders put in place yesterday by PA Gov basically stating that any travel out or into the state besides work or medical trips requires a Covid test/quarantine. That order will most likely end the EDP Season/ Winter Classic Tournament and any other Showcases that we’re hoping to be held before fall season. And oh yeah don’t forget to wear a mask in your own house if you live in PA. Madness

PAs order is the dumbest yet. Requires a negative test within 72 hours prior to returning to the state. First for non-residents a lot can happen in 3 days and for residents you can come up clean for almost a week after exposure.

Other NE states have also banned teams from traveling so don't blame PA. There will be no interstate competitions until probably February (assuming the region can get case numbers back down). Authorities will want to wait and make sure there isn't a post holiday case surge.

Don’t y’all realize the government can’t FORCE you to do anything? Just how exactly is PA going to actually ENFORCE their dumb orders? THEY CAN’T they just rely on all the sheeple to blindly comply! Live your life and STOP listening to the random arbitrary orders the government TRIES to impose!

If paying big bucks and cannot even be showcased what’s the point....no D1 coaches but what about the majority of the players which look for opportunities at D2 and D3....they get shafted since they are not seen and who knows when or if the next showcase will even happen. Why not capitalize on an opportunity that is available now?

                        Fair enough, I guess.

But do you think that soccer clubs should just ignore these government orders?

YES - people and businesses have to fight back or there will be no businesses left!

NO. Can you guarantee that no spread will occur as a result of the event? I say scale it back and make it only local NJ teams within 60 miles of the field. No NY or other interstate teams. That seems reasonable given the current circumstances as you aren't congregating people from other areas with different rates of positivity.

Yes absolutely, the trainers have to make a living. Very selfish to just think about yourselves when you have the opportunity to sit behind a computer in zoom calls all day. The trainers are some of the more under appreciated and hard working folks out there give them a chance.
