God someone at thorns academy is getting desperate. Yes, we all know Thorns academy is cheaper. We also all choose to spend our money making decisions based on value, not just cost. For some girls, ECNL is a better value. For some, OYSA teams are a better value.
The fact that thorns honks have to come on here and even start a thread like this shows a sad and desperate lack of confidence in their own product. If it was as good as they say it is - that is, if it was as good of a VALUE as they say it is, they wouldn't need to come on here and recycle tired information we all already know. They would be confident that their product would sell itself.
Word is players are leaving academy teams, and not just the roster filling bench warmers. There's a lot of sacrifice required for academy, and for some families, the value isn't there when you take into consideration what the player has to give up. Hence the recycled thread about costs. Sad.

Where is the money going? There is a reason why the business is being sent from Tursi's to Soccerloco. It is not to help out the parents.

What if both programs charged the same, where would the kids go?
What happens when the Thorns dont subsidize their program next year?
Finally someone asks the right question! What will those parents do when their DA subsidy goes away next year. None of you are really dumb enough to think the Timbers organization will foot the bill again. It’s always been just a bait and switch to try and buy talent. But that’s one and done then it’s back to same old crappy Timbers product at higher cost.

Its still the DA...not local club fare.
That sells it free or CU/FC pricing.
