    Isolated Technique

This will help explain how so many coaches are getting it wrong and making money off of it.
There needs to be a balance.

How many of you parents are training your kids to be in the circus. Example would be ADF players

You seem to know nothing about soccer if you think supplementary ADF training sessions are for the circus. It's about pushing the dial when doing ball work so that in a game a player can increase his/her ability to keep the ball under high pressure.

Actually the OP has a point.

So many coaches teach isolates technique and never teach the cognitive part of the game. What’s the use of being able to complete a Kruyff Turn when you don’t use it at the correct time? How many moves does a player really need to be successful? Why don’t coaches teach the moves based on situations so players make decisions based on what is presented to them? Now that sounds better.

So your kid can juggle 700 times? Great. He should join the circus.

20k for 3 months residency program with TOVO academy. Is this a great investment for your player and family? JFC
Talk about pay to play corrupt system. This sport is only for suburban families with fat wallets.

Looking at the program i wouldn’t be sending my child to TOVO for the soccer. There’s way more your child will get from a trip like that. But I’m sure the soccer is off the charts. My best friend has a son at LAFC. They made the trip over there and said it was unreal! LAFC is a partner club with TOVO which he says has changed their club.

My father in law was famous.

"Great what did he come up with?"

No I don't have anything from him to show but he was famous.

"Okay....so why are you asking for so much money?"

Well my father in law was famous and helped famed programs like Barcelona and the Dutch.

"Okay....well if you don't have anything from him why are you asking for so much money?"

I do have great content to give you. It's called not doing isolated technique....

"Okay...everyone, even pep at Barca and city does isolated technique"...

But it's wrong for kids and we should make them think..

"Uh, most coaches do more then isolated technique"

Okay well I also have rondos...

"Like the ones that we see on YouTube?"

              Yeah like that.

"Again why is this so special that you ask for 20k for three months to have a kid go to a camp not related to Barcelona fc or Ajax fc"

Because we are special and you will have to pay money to find out more...

Not even close. But you think taking your teams up to the trails above the Oregon Zoo to do Fitness is a great thing at 10, 11 and 12 years old. Might want to fix on technique and character building. The TA Staff is getting tired of your premadona players

First off, who is trail running at the Zoo? It’s actually a great way to get fitness and cross training in if they are. Secondly it’s spelled “Prima Donna”... two words. What club has kids is TA staff supposedly “tired of”? The big thing TA is lacking is fitness training. It’s hard to do when you have 70 kids on one field.

Westside does it. Generally 90 minutes on an occasional Saturday morning, not on game days.

It's a bit challenging, but not excessive. (Westside also does "beach training", which is far, far tougher than "zoo training").

The main controversy for such fitness-for-fitness-sake activities is:

                    1) if done excessively, can actually reduce player's ability to play with power. Some HS club coaches are known for training soccer players like they are distance runners; that is a bad thing to do. OTOH, expecting a middle-school athlete to jog for a couple miles isn't unreasonable.

                    2) Some coaches believe that any running that doesn't have a ball at the feet is wasted. I can see their point, but there's 20 field players on the pitch at once (11v11, excluding the keepers), and only one ball--95% of the running during a game is done WITHOUT the ball. And this needs to be done at pace, too. Only moving when you're in possession is not a good idea.

Now whether or not the TOVO critic above is with Westside, I've no idea. I've no opinion on TOVO, other than it costs a lot of money. Advanced soccer camps can be useful--but the mark of a great player will be where and how he (or she) lives and trains and plays full-time, not whether he pays thousands of dollars to go to Barcelona or Bolivia for a few weeks.

What is Soccer at it's core? It's a Team Sport.
Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results

Oregon teams no longer have uncommon results in club or DA sphere. That is, teams of regional and national distinction.

Instead some fools have opted for sophomoric methods of individual training, presented by novice business folk who comically disguise themselves as 'Soccer trainers'.

What's so amazing, many parents actually bite at these short lived, unproven practices, until boredom eventually sets in from the mundane repetitive activity of this charade.

The process kills the essential components of the team sport/athlete, imagination, creativity, competitiveness, accountability, sacrifice and player growth in a 'team' environment..

Enjoy the spin cycle while it lasts, you can always plug another quarter in the slot and do it again.

                        Scary stuff.

Yeah, really scary stuff. Really. American players need work at being less technical and less capable in tight spaces. Maybe you're available to be the next non-technical advisor to the US men's team. You know, there is time for both. Team training and individual training. I'm just guessing professional athletes have worked on both over the years.
