Do you think you would better off trining and development wise at Lisc da or at an npl team.

That really depends. With GDA, you are supposed to get 4 practices a week for 10 months a year. Most NPL are going to practice 2-3/week and cut back in Winter. Many supplement club with programs like ODP or private training, so it really depends on what you want out of it. But GDA also makes it very difficult to do other activities, so that is part of why it has been a tough sell.

Of course, the coach is a big factor as well. You want a good fit there.

Thank you. However, specifically regarding LISC DA vs Npl. They discontinued the oldest age groups and are in a state of flux.Plus at bottom of the league competing against Albertson on LI FOR DA players. Is DA. A better alternative than NPL for development.

How do you define development? You seem to be focused on games and results.

And what NPL? There are many varieties and the level of competition in that is going to be uneven there as well.

Factor in cost and travel as well.

I all depends on the coaching with any alternative that you have. Don't get caught up in the badges except from the standpoint of do you want HS or not. Beyond that find the best coaching for you player (not all will respond the same way to some coaches)

LISC has put up banners saying "A new beginning" and indicating there will be an announcement tomorrow (Wed 6/20).

                  1. It's a little late to try and convince players -- most have already had to commit

                  2. What sort of announcement is this? Coaching staff? Is it going to be anything that might cause people to rethink joining there?

My understanding is that they had light turnout for the 2 GDA age groups.

A little late? Tryout are basically over. It must be something aimed at future years and younger players. The current crop of teens got hit with a crappy soccer tornado that will likely mess with them until they are through.

Whatever it is LM already has his “SUSA defense take” on what LISC is announcing. He said he has his response ready and sounds like he doesn’t like it. This means it’s probably pretty big and that it is not good for SUSA. Guarantee it.

I have seen plenty of "big" soccer announcements touted over the years. If this one is is of real significance it will be a first.

What about LISC EDP (daughter didn't make DA) or NPL?

The LISC website also mentions DA in 2019 - 2020 for U17 and older age groups.

Why is that big? They had full gda at all ages this this past season.

One component of this is definitely a staffing announcement -- either team coaches or directors. That has been expected for a while.

There may be a second component to this which involves (most of an) entire team playing under LISC instead of another club...
