    This should be EYE OPENING

Let's start here and explain something that AFFECTS ALL OF YOU...

Christian Pulisic was sold from Dortmund to Chelsea for $73M.

In the global market, when a player gets sold, each club they were previously with gets a cut of that money. It's called a "Solidarity Payment". Essentially a "Thanks for helping develop".

However, US Soccer is NOT set-up like this. So, PA Classics, the club that Pulisic played for from 2011-2013, is entitled to about $550k, but will not be receiving a dime of this money.

Now, why is this important to you all on here?

Let's see if there is any *real discussion* on here. Or you can keep talking about hotdogs, coaches or whatever conspiracy theories you can dream up!

Wasn’t there a lawsuit about this for another player? I think the club sued to get their portion. Not sure what ever happened

Do YOU know the reason why they are not pursuing the payment?

who gets the money? US Soccer? No one on US soil? You need to tease it out more if you want a discussion.

        Thank you,

          Yes, Yedlin with Crossfire Premiere.

That case is being dragged through the courts still.

Paraphrasing a statement from Bob Foose (Executive Director of MLS Players Association)

"Solidarity payment is essentially a tax paid to a club. If we charged a solidarity payment, then it would be harder for our players to be sold...

"Given that our youth clubs operate on a 'pay to play basis', solidarity payments don't make sense because clubs have already been compensated for the training...

PA Classics has declined the money. Stating that they are not set up as a professional club and that in their model development fees are paid by the parents when the kids are signed up.

I actually got 3 questions out of you, so I don't need help on help on how to start a discussion...

US Soccer will not be getting this money. IF Pulisic came from an MLS Academy, that MLS Academy wouldn't even be getting that money, MLS would be.

That makes total sense from their point of view but it seems productive that the clubs would want to send a little love note ($) to the pipeline. That would grease the tracks for any future talent that may show up

Not exactly...but I suspect its more of your word choice than anything.

PA Classics said they will not be pursuing the money in terms of legality (like Crossfire is doing for Yedlin). This is a HUGE difference than declining it.

That first part of the statement is a joke. Youth Clubs around the world get solidarity payments for their players. If the players are quality then solidarity payments don’t stop players from being bought.

I want to know how many businesses have turned down $550k and it "made sense"

the whole notion of developed is pretty moot with Pulisic. He played there would be a better way of putting it.

Are we starting to wake up people? This guy gets it!

Here is an example of a non-helpful post...

Let me break it down for you in simple terms, because this is dumb

                              1) Pulisic was a part of PA Classics from 12-15 years old. Those three years were definitely developmentless.

                              2) Dortmund just wanted to sign a random American player after seeing him in an International Tournament.

                              3) If you think he's "just a natural", then please turn in your soccer parent card and move along.
