We have the Timbers that is in it for cash only. TOVO, GPS and other European clubs see dollar signs and prey on the gullible US parent. It's just utter nonsense!
This wonderful reality affords the mercenary millennial coach the platform of asking parents to fork over cash for privates during their spare time, when they are not coaching a 'pool' of players.

No standards, no ethics, no accountability, no results, no development instead just a 5hit Show of clowns milking ignorant parents and not looking back.

    It's awesome.

Oregon is so far ahead of the curve. Futsal anyone? Wait, i've got an app to track your improvement. FitBit Soccer 101. Wait, how about we make a video and stick it on youtube for another benjamin? or how bout we travel all over the USA, better exposure, right!

Keep Oregon just they way it is!! Pretty Please..

Ummmmm. I’m a coach and actually followed one of the sessions this evening in my session. I don’t know where you’re getting your info.

The only local club that ownes:
Women's 1st team (they won NWPL last year)
Men's 1st team (just acquired the Vancouver Victory)
A complex with 3 lighted turf fields

WashT has established themselves as the top youth academy in Oregon/SW Washington with the possible exception, of course, of the Timbers/Thorns (though that could even be debated).

Don't be surprised if they step out from under the shadow of the Portland Timbers in the next few years and go it on their own.
You missed a couple of other key points.

Just signed a deal with the Rebound Clinic and 24hr Fitness to build a state of the art 80,000 sq ft clubhouse with 6 Futsal courts and pub. Players fees will include gym membership for player and one parent. The drawings are cool. 15,000 sq ft deck overlooking the fields and six locker rooms built on the fields. Us Soccer is donating a chunk of money for a coaching education hub for “D” and “E” licenses.

Secondly, the parking lot is slated to begin on April 1st which will include two more ingress/egress and a street light.

It’s really pretty cool times here in Clark county. The area needs this.

Washington Timbers have been innovating while the Portland clubs have been refining sales techniques.

There either needs to be a consolidation, or a true differentiation. 5 flavors of vanilla at this point.

If you want to call that "innovating" go right ahead. I'd call it catching up with where the good Portland clubs were about 15 years ago.

Is that why almost all of the top players on both the girls and boys side leave the Washington Timbers by U15? Innovating?

Looking in the past, that was sometimes the case. Moving forward, it will become increasingly more difficult to pry players away from the Washington Timbers. If their vision comes to fruition, it would be good for the entire region because it will force clubs to upgrade coaching, facilities and the kids will benefit as a result. Survival of the fittest.

Hear hear. It used to be that a desire to compete with the big boys of CA drove the market here. It looks like, though, that the presence of Timbers DA just drove clubs to passivity below u15 (pretty much a result of no training compensation; I mean, why work hard to make players for Timbers if there's no incentive?). The only way to shake that dynamic is for someone to compete directly with Timbers, and WT looks best positioned to do that.

Seriously dude, I have defended Washington Timbers on this forum over the yeasr, but you can **** off with this bull****.

You guys do some things well, but it took you a while to get there (and the Alliance to Ajax to Tovo thing might keep some bodies from crossing the river, but it starts to look shallow after a while) and quite simply got lucky in terms of the land provided to you.

Again go build your thing, but what you wrote is BS, given the amount you shamelessly sale yourselves on this forum.

Nope. It is the club philosophy to send players to the Thorns and Timbers Academy.
All clubs benefit from the development of W T F C players. They are hot commodities by U15.

The alliance with European clubs is no different than a partnership with the Timbers. It is just a marketing strategy from the professional clubs to get an additional revenue stream from a youth club. It is more for fans than soccer development.

Then why have they been leaving and going to FC Portland?

Hahahah every club has a few hoppers and it's funny because it takes about a month before they come back because of the sales tactics without follow through at Fcp
