Why can’t they get better teams in the GDA?

Only weak club is Burlingame. Same can be said for ECNL. Look at Washington, both ECNL teams there are B teams in their respective clubs. ECNL and GDA are watered down now, but the more choices for girls the better.

That is inaccurate in a couple of ways. Pretty good analysis in the socal forum around USDA clubs performance, summarized below:

        1. By far the strongest performance in girls DA are clubs that have both GDA and ECNL programs. These are the super clubs (Crossfire Wash, Socal Blues, Surf).

        2. 2nd strongest our clubs that moved from ECNL to GDA.

        3. By far the weakest group are clubs in GDA that had no prior ECNL experience. Burlingame and Thorns are in this group.

Obviously this could all change with time. But Burlingame is part of a group that arguably should have never been in the GDA, but the league needed clubs, particularly in certain parts of the country.

#2 is really only true of the 05/04 Group. A ton of girls fled ECNL for Thorns in the older ages.

Another example of this point - LA Galaxy GDA. This is a free academy run by an MLS team. None of their teams are doing well and its free. This may get remedied with time, but not a great year 1 for them.

I would not consider 5 to 10% "a ton of girls". You are embellishing a "tad"

Will there still be a girls DA next year? US Soccer is such a wreck that I wouldn’t be surprised if they just shut er down.

Yes, it will be top tier like in the boys side. ECNL will become more diluted but a good feeder for D3.

Judging by the quality of teams and clubs that participate in the Ecnl league from Oregon, it shouldn't be a bar for anything other then propaganda. The teams are mediocre at best.

GDA sounds fun. You can’t tell me it isn’t a hoot to bust a goal bonanza on a team.

Point of the Southern Cal posts was that the historically strong clubs still have the strongest teams and continue to do well regardless of league patch.

That has to be a hard lesson but if you can get it together you can move on.

Once a team goes up by 8 goals they should blow the game dead. All the extra goals are unnecessary.

But then how would the Thornz subs ever get to play?
