Some Evangelicals are starting to grasp the stakes here.

...But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.

The reason many are not shocked about this is that this president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He has hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral actions in business and his relationship with women, about which he remains proud. His Twitter feed alone—with its habitual string of mischaracterizations, lies, and slanders—is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused....

They do get one important detail wrong however. The editorial makes the statement, "Mr. Trump did not have a serious opportunity to offer his side of the story in the House hearings on impeachment." That is profoundly untrue. He refused to participate when given ample opportunity. That is the point of the second article of impeachment, obstruction of Congress. That wouldn't have been one of the two articles had he offered his side of the story in the House hearings on impeachment.

But kudos to Christianity Today for speaking out.

Oh, he’ll get his chance to offer his side of the story in the Senate. Something Pelosi and the rest of the libtards are trying to prevent. For a group of idiots that said impeachment couldn’t wait because Trump is such a danger to the country, they sure have put the brakes on in a hurry by sitting on the articles. Just more liberal hypocrisy. Remember, he has not been impeached yet until it goes to the Senate. That’s in the constitution! Look who’s refusing to participate now.

Ukraine was money laundering central as evidenced by Hunter Biden's no show job at Burisma. And Trump is 'immoral' for wanting the situation and any connection to the genesis of the Trump/Russia fiction investigated? It would have been immoral not to investigate it. CT is a joke.

I'd agree, only the guy who wrote the piece is retiring next month so he's not exactly a shining example of bravery. Also, Graham's son already came out and condemned the piece saying his dad wouldn't approve as he was a Trump supporter.

It's going to be very hard from evangelicals to quit Trump. They've invested too much effort and probably money into him. That said, they'd also love to have Pence in the WH

You've got it backwards. Pelosi and Schumer are pushing the GOP to hold a fair trial with witnesses, hopefully some from the WH that actually respect a congressional subpoena. It's the GOP that wants to ramrod through a sham trial with no witnesses and a foregone conclusion. At least get that right!

Pence might say all the right things like many many politicians before him. But Trump does all the right things and that is why we love him. And I don't mean from a personal perspective. He does things personally that are often times offensive to a Christian. But for the country he is doing the right things. We did not vote for him to run our church. We voted for him to run our country. As a man he is far from perfect. But except for only one that I've heard of, so are all men.

Oh yeah, just like the fair impeachment inquiry. Do you libtards force feed each other this bullshît? What’s Nancy afraid of? Riddle me that. If the evidence is overwhelming then what does it matter who the Republicans call as their witnesses? Seriously, what could these witnesses possibly say that would change the “facts”? Why would the Dems care? With all your facts, these Republican witnesses would only help your cause. You guys have an iron clad, slam dunk case, right? Or do you. Hmm, sounds like the impeachment articles are paper thin.

Biden doesn't want it moved to Senate. It will be the end of his campaign. Republicans are going to hammer the Bidens. There will be witnesses called to destroy them. You'll see.

Yes, it was a fair impeachment inquiry despite the GOP Reps interrupting with bullsh!t points of order they knew darned well were out of order. Trump was given every opportunity to participate and chose not to. Let's here what Mulvaney and Bolton have to say under oath, shall we? I mean if it was a perfect call and there was no abuse of power they wouldn't have a problem showing up and saying so, right?

You're absolutely correct. The cruel things he does are precisely what his base adore him for.

Oh yeah, they gave him the opportunity to participate without any legal representation and would not allow Republicans to call all their fact witnesses. Yep, sounds pretty fair. Tell me
Something genius, if you were charged with a high crimes and misdemeanors would you show up without your own legal representation? Would you rely on fairness when your own fact witnesses were allowed to defend you. That’s what I thought. You’re a special kind of stupid. Schiff allowed a 1:4 ratio of Republican to Liberal allowed witnesses. Again, your idea of fair is staggering idiotic. But guess what? That’s all about to change and Pelosi knows it.

The same speaker that shoved this down America’s throat because the urgency of Trump remaining in power was a matter of national security. Now all of sudden, she is stonewalling to after the new year. Wow, sounds incredibly urgent. We could go on all day about liberal hypocrisy but it’s so flagrant you libtards don’t even defend it anymore. The bottom line is you know this will blow up in your face. Trump just raked in millions more dollars after this sham. The good thing is you’re have 4 more years of impeachment.

Exactly. I will never forgive Donald Trump for having to pay $2.20 for a gallon of gas and having all the money I need in my paycheck to buy my family everything we need this Christmas.

Just wait until the bill comes due for the massive two trillion dollar tax cut.

We cut tax revenue by two trillion dollars.

                            Increased spending by billions.

The new jobs are not creating as much revenue as they projected.

Government is running at a massive deficit.

This is a giant shell game. New jobs created are only a small fraction of what would be needed to create enough revenue for the tax cuts.

This is fun now, but not sustainable. Like going on vacation with a high limit credit card. Fun for now but the bill is coming.

The facts are clear. More people should testify if they can refute any of that. They really cant and we all know it. Overwhelming evidence here butter face. Problem for FoxNEwsRepublicans is that they hate losing more than they like the truth. It is entertainment for these clowns. Half these @ss munchers don’t even read books and the other half are probably AI Chinese trolls. Certainly not Russian
