ALL of the ECNL clubs and Reign have good visibility to college coaches. There is a sour grapes poster on here who constantly loves to bash the clubs her daughter got cut from. Starts lots of threads and comments on them pretending to be different people. The threads they start are always veiled passive aggressive attacks towards either Reign and SU. But given the Reign coach that sour grapes mom had the most problem with left the club, her attacks are mainly directed at SU and RR. She believes her daughter got cut at RR's direction so SU. Complains a lot about loyalty even though her daughter took a spot from XF families who have been with the club many years (like they were told to) in order to make the top teams. But you won't hear her hypocritical position on this. I recommend you read the previous posts about Reign and SU by this person. Even the post above reeks of them because she loves to bash SU considering this was the last club they left (were cut from) and specifically targets their leadership including the recent 03 coach that to coach at St. Marys. I implore you to go ahead and research previous threads started by this person and see how obsessed they are. They love to remind people XF is free and they definitely have an overinflated view of their player's ability. What they fail to tell people is that many good players left XF because of the ECNL coach people do not like but tolerate. And these starting players left to paying clubs mid-season. You have to ask yourself why.

The soccer community is small. Coaches move from club to club all the time and share notes about certain parents and their players. It's unfortunate when the actions of a crazy parent hurts their player like the way this parent has to their kid.

No, this is where players go to get playing time. In the ECNL, most of the Reign teams would be middle of the pack at best.

just for the record I made that post and I'm not the person to whom you are referring. not saying this person doesn't do what you said but she didn't make that particular post.

What a load of crap. The team that can recruit the best players and win. Which club who says development and player focus while recruiting the best players? All.Of.Them. So make sure that your dd move to a team which she will make an impact and play the most minutes.

Eastside for social soccer, although there are a FEW good coaches, they are spread out among the age groups, so you might have a good coach one year, then grandma or grandpa who played 40 years ago for your next coach. Imagine Frank the tank from old school, or the grandma from Titanic.
Thought this was a bit harsh on Eastside. If you are on their top team, the coaching is excellent:

Yeah. The last time Reign played head to head against ECNL team, they managed a grand total of 1 win in 5 games against ECNL teams. Comical anyone thinks Reign top level based on whatever league they play in.

Find the best overall fit for your kid, then make sure she reaches out to coaches at schools she’s interested in and invites them to watch her play. Send the schedule

there's a lot of midseason movement in all directions among some of the top teams. A good coach for one kid may not be as good for another. Make the best match you can and if it's not working, don't be afraid to look at the alternatives

Three of the five games were draws, one team accounted for the losses, all of the games were against strong California teams, and the tournament was in 100+ degree heat more than a year and a half ago so it’s pretty ridiculous to suggest anyone should make a decision based on it.

As with most clubs, lots of players have had very positive experiences with Reign, and some haven’t. Reign players — and not just those in the national team pools or those who moved there from SU or Eastside as part of the former partnerships — have done very well in finding places to play in college. About on par with XF over the last couple years, although XF has a long track record of success on that front, their program is funded, and their program has relative stability/consistency (for better or worse, as there are some strong detractors of the coaches in their ecnl program, as well as some fans).

Rather than relying on a message board I’d suggest getting out to some training sessions before tryouts — Reign has a rolling tryout process and can let you check out a training session any time. If you’re coming from outside ECNL and RCL, you can also check out the ECNL clubs any time. For kids in RCL or ECNL now the transfer rules are relatively difficult to navigate.

Is this really a topic? One club is free. They will clearly be getting the top players unless your family likes spending 10k a year.
These boards are ridiculous with coaches comments etc. Of course not every player likes every coach. Show me a team where the 18th player loves the coach, I am guessing you won't find any.

Most the players who are free at XF come from families who pay private school tuition upwards 20k and higher a year. They don't have an issue with paying fees, just like they didn't before they offered fully funded soccer. Before the ECNL expansion XF was a destination club. Now it's like all the other clubs, highly diluted. Not all the top players go there because they can get the same product elsewhere without having to deal with the bureaucracy. To your point about the 18th player, given the high roster numbers at XF, I'm sure those bottom 6-8 roster players have a different perspective on whether the free soccer is worth it in the long run.

your numbers are way off. average private h.s. school tuition in the seattle area is more like $40k.

Please tell me the name(s) of the soccer club(s) that lack "bureaucracy" lol. That isn't driven by whether or not the club costs money.

Please stop. You're embarrassing your child and your current team.
