Anyone else hear this? From a credible source.
This would really mess with the .001 percent that might get to a US Soccer camp...
Kids (the 99.99999%) not going to play on the US team can actually play soccer with their friends and classmates again? What a concept!!!

It will certainly happen, but it’s a year or two away
It’s just not working for most of the US the way it is for too many reasons

A majority weren't affected with the last change, so does majority rule or not?

The other way to look at it is this: Switching to birth year only positively affected a few dozen players who are being tracked for YNT consideration, while serving zero benefit to pretty much all the other players.

College coaches hate this for recruiting. At U15 there are 14 year olds in 8th grade mixed in with 15 year olds about to be HS sophomores.
Must be fun at games trying to figure out who they can/can’t put on their lists to recruit and contact after the sophomore year.
U16 just as bad as some will be freshmen and STILL cannot be contacted while many on their team are being actively recruited.
Zero stress for those U16 freshmen- Right????
Birth year initiative such a joke. Except for those very few at US camps right now...
US Soccer - top down approach with a selfishness accepted by all? I don’t think so...
Change it back. It’s hated.

US Soccer, keep birth year for DA. That’s your main pool anyways (with a few exceptional ECNL players).

If you look good on the field, the college coach will contact your DOC/coach to express interest prior to junior year. If they are mildly interested they will push an ID camp.
College coaches only come to watch a handful of players who asked to be seen, not a whole team.
College coaches also hate that they have 16 scholarships to hand out to a team of 30 players. They should do something about that first.
