Futsal in Ct is nonexistent
so many other states have futsal programming. Higher quality programs. Manhattan kickers, D.V Academy, fc Virginia, dts, nysc, cedar stars --newark, south shore select, the list could go on and on. These programs are in our immediate periphery. Connecticut is the only state where people still don't know what it is and those that do, debate it's relevance to soccer. It's a state where is futsal doesn't even host a regional camp. PA, Md, Ma... other states around us are represented. It's frustrating. Brazil Ct program is not at the same level. And that's pretty much all we've got in terms of teams going to the regional tournaments. It's extremely limited and there are not enough qualified instructors in the state.
Futsal is important and it is seriously fun esp for the young players. Such a shame. Ct is so backwards. And theres many coaches out there - not naming any names- who claim to offer futsal but merely use a regular soccer ball on a gym floor- or better yet- on turf!! And call it futsal!!
