I drove by the purported location about a month ago. No sign or any activity

According to original press release BS is still in the six month contingency period. Sale was reported to be on or around May 2017

How many of you rocket surgeons could get a group together and raise capital to buy land and build an indoor and outdoor youth soccer facility. I'm sure banks were exactly lining up to loan these guys money. To their credit, they pulled it off and the club will be well positioned going forward.

I'd like to see them invest in coaching director to push a curriculum across the entire branch platform. There isn't much talent being developed outside of the Southern branches.

I recall it saying it had to go through environmental testing which would take that long. Even if approved in May it will be awhile before they get anything up and running. Good that CFC finally invested some real dough

Yes the environmental testing is one of many processes that would take place in the six month contingency period. May is proposed sale date and yes construction would commence after sale

Last Friday, we entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement to buy 11.3 acres near Independence Drive in Monroe, Connecticut. The Agreement provides us with 120 days to complete our due diligence regarding this property, and we are already working on a title search and an environmental site assessment. The Agreement also provides a 180 day contingency period for: (i) Beachside to confirm it has enough money to close on the land and build the Soccer Park; and (ii) the Seller to obtain all necessary approvals for fields, clubhouse, lights and parking. Assuming all contingencies are satisfied over the next 180 days, we will purchase the land in May 2017

Read the press release, the seller is assuming development costs. BS just needs to get the financing wrapped up. Nice to hear they have got it all locked up.

The press release says that the seller is getting all necessary approvals. That would mean town approvals to house facility there. It doesn't say anything about development costs.
