During tryouts for my son's current team, we were told who the coach was going to be. But sometime after tryouts, this coach never materialized, so the father of one of the players was assigned to our team. This father has little coaching background, and his last coaching position was an assistant coach at a travel team. His practices have been a disorganized mess, and he seems to have no ability to teach these kids the game.
His son is a year younger, but of course, he plays center midfield in every game and very selfish with the ball. He is always looking to shoot the ball and during post game meetings with the coach, other kids are blamed for his lack of passing. This coach has singled kids out in these meetings and essentially put the entire blame on their shoulders (mainly to justify the poor play of his son).
So my question is, how best to handle a coach like this? We don't want to burn any bridges, yet, we have spent a lot of money and time on this for the betterment of our son and have gotten very little in return.
