Of course Seacoast does well, look at their competition.

So I did take a look at their competition. Looks like Seacoast 2003 beat FSA '03 ECNL 2-0 and FCB '03 ECNL 2-0 in the Stars of MA tournament this fall.

I just looked up the 2002s on GotSoccer. FSA and CFC ECNL teams do not show up in the top 25 teams. Safe bet that OW and YU might be put in a better division at this age as well. This is not an exact science for the tournament directors. Their main objective is to create competitive divisions. As mentioned earlier, many of these teams are brand new this season and for the older teams, they haven't even played a single league match yet.

So what are you exactly paying Sporting and Oakwood for if your kid doesn't want to play in college?

Why don't you ask all of the parents of your B and C players that question?

They matter - some - for top college programs. But having a badge doesn't preclude nonECNL players from getting looks. More importantly having a badge won't get you a spot if you're not good enough - it will just get you more looks and easier looks.

Not everyone, probably not even your own kid, will play in a top college program from CT. So of the 275 D1 coaches at ECNL, that leaves some D1s that weren't there, along with 700 odd D2 and D3 programs that many players would happy to play for. Mid-to low D1 and good academic schools are what most players will end up with and ECNL doesn't HAVE TO be there for that, it just helps.

I looked at the standings for last year's girls tournament and didn't see FSA or CFC in a division below an Oakwood team. Can you please send that link? CFC and OW U14's in the same bracket last year but no FSA U14 and in U13, only OW. Perhaps I missed it (or you could be lying or stupid .... both)?

We don't care about NPL teams like yours or our B teams.

Non ECNL players may get some soccer money from D1 or D2 colleges. But it generally takes a much longer time to get the offer because the non ECNL players are not playing top competition every week. All things being equal, college coaches will give the benefit of the doubt to an ECNL player over an NPL players just because ECNL is a better league. The NPL player may have to wait until senior year to get an offer, if any scholarship money is left.

Lets file this entire thread under...."Who the F Cares? The older CFC ECNL teams don't even attend a Jefferson Cup so you aren't going to find them in the standings.

Its a nice event. Try to enjoy and not worry where some other club team from a different part of CT got placed.
