Then why doesn't he fund all Oregon youth soccer instead of sucking more and more money out of it every year?

So most millionaires retain and grow their money by financing silly things like girls soccer ages 14thru19? Does that make sense to you? Sure his dad would be proud of that move.

The OYSA membership are funding Timbers/Thorns US Soccer mandated DA programs for this MLS/NWSL club. With these (OYSA) established revenue streams, that have become incredibly profitable with price points for a product approaching $1k per team (league schedule and referee).

His Dad is elated that his kid doesn't pay a dime and you do. While the kid can still make a significant margin on these activities as he avoids the capital cost of goods (fields) to run camps, leagues, tourney and rtc/odp.

Being able to pay for the Timbers DA and Thorns GDA is much cheaper than servicing the debt on 100+ turf fields across the region.

        The model is working

          Are you happy about this?

Are you doing anything to correct it, or are we all destined to subsidize Peregrine indefinitely?

Is there even anything we can do?

Cool, if the Thorns actually partner with DeAnza for an ECNL pair then we will have another local team to have games against.

If you are a parent or coach: Email your DOC and club president your concerns. CC other parents who share the concern. Ditto if there is a club facebook page.

If you are a club president or DOC: Email the new OYSA president and new technical director your concerns. CC other presidents and DOCs who share your concern.

It's a bit late in the game to be emailing the DOC's and telling them our concerns. For the last decade they (DOC's) have usurped the membership that pays them and made outrageous decisions, going to OPL/US Club Soccer, ECNL/US Club Soccer, USDA for little tykes, OYSA again?, branding as a 'Timber' alliance club, Sparq to Oswego/SSC to OSSA to Crossfire etc.. etc... etc..Changing club names at a drop of a hat. While the masses just click the online credit card payment...

BTW there is no such thing as an OYSA Tech. Director, no funding and no cause to have one.

It's actually time to build that bon-fire the TA chant about..

It was already done once (OPL) but a bunch of lemmings and clowns bowed down to GW. And here we are...

March 1st you have Technical Director...Right now you don't.

So much to be excited about, right?

Same ole, Same ole....another Timbers coach in dreaming, in the Mold of the last tool that resigned after selling the soul of the OYSA to the Timbers for his 'dream' of being on the Timbers coaching staff....the cycle continues...Great.

Outcomes will not change, until change is real.

                                Where is the info?

I still don't see any organizational information on either the Oregon Thorns GDA or the NoCal Thorns GDA. I did notice that DeAnza has no mention of Thorns and GDA on their webpage. Maybe Thorns are planning a surprise launch stealth attack on the rest of youth soccer.
