Agreed. Soccer is played in all weather conditions, including snow if it's not blinding and bitter cold. It makes the kids tougher mentally.

The real test is not today but this weekend when the White teams play Match Fit.

You missed the memo. PDA princesses do not play in the rain. Ever.

I would be surprised if PDA White teams could challenge MF. For better or worse, the 2006 MF team is solid and has a decent coach. Allocation of the extra ECNL teams to PDA and Stars is a clear money grab and only waters down the quality of the competition.

Agreed, MF should also get a second ECNL team, PDA not playing by the same rules.

Makes so much sense. Lets have less clubs in ECNL but those clubs should have 2 teams.....Damn fools who think that is a good idea. It only serves clubs like PDA, FC Stars. Does nothing for the league or creating good competition. Could you imagine how horrible a second MF team would be?

MF is lucky they still have ECNL.

We can discuss other things as well (outside of soccer)
                    - non-for-profit status of many of these clubs
                    - NCAA violations

ECNL has no real set of developmental or facilities standards - so it’s a matter of being approved by the board of directors. The only requirement I’m aware of is ‘club must not have a team in GDA’ - so MF fits pretty well.

There is a reason why PDA recruits 1/2 of its own flock to Rutgers as coaches hold back communication from other colleges. Also, any recruits coaches by Rutgers staff must reside within a 50 mile radius from Rutgers.

You make a very good point, did not think of that, but does the NCAA really care about women’s soccer??? Prob not as their focus is on football and basketball

Most NCAA coaches are affiliated with club teams. Drew women's head coach is on MFA staff

When you say most NCAA coaches you must mean NCAA soccer right??? Not sure that would fly with revenue sports, would not be allowed and that’s because of the financial gain aspect.
