uswnt wins a bunch of soccer matches, because the rest of the world are just mainly amateur teams and as a result we dont have to try hard or seek/nurture top talent. HS is just "good enough".
Going to, make it as a professional? Probably less than 0.1 per cent of kids giving up high schools. These kids will Ultimately regret not playing with their friends if they have a viable HS program. If you are good enough you will be drafted, regardless of the league you play in. The pro clubs and European clubs don’t have a GDA bias like US Soccer. Shame the GDA is forcing kids to make a decision that they will regret.

Have fun playing HS. That’s OK too.

Some on that team are finally getting that development creep is catching up. You will see some girls leave after this season. PDA is not the place for them to get more. It would be a shame for some of those kids to not get better development.
U16 Blue wins a ton as well. Many other individuals on other teams are advancing past the PDA kids. Hey but they win.

Look now. Rutgers!
Just not what it use to be. Winning over development is hurting. Half season training can’t keep up with what’s going on across the country.

The reality is so few kids will ever make the national team that it’s ridiculous reason to base anything on that. Just doesn’t pay to give things up for what is basically a pipe dream that only .1% of kids will ever fulfill. Heck it’s not even great odds to play D1 college soccer which is what ECNL is based on - but the D1 soccer dream is far more realistic than the national team dream.
