    GotSoccer not awarding FSPL points

FSPL teams have gone through at least 5 games and GotSoccer has yet to award points for wins and ties. Anyone know when these points are typically awarded?

They are not awarding points this season because of the birth year changes.

      FUNNY...

They award points when the league is over. It ends in February.
Every year it is done this way. Points are not awarded till then.
you may get a "match win for 30, or 60" but that is all.

If I recall correctly, last year they didn't update anything until after the last fall game.

End of the season. Most points are awarded based on your team's final place in the 16. Cumulative points are earned during the season only if beating a higher ranked team.

Wouldn't they award 300 additional points if you beat a team ranked much higher?

Points will appear at some point during the season. This was discussed last year. The league administrator may have to do something.

If you are in FSPL, your team rank is probably top 20. So that would be enough to get you into most elite tournaments. Does it matter if you are 20 or 12? 7 or 4? 5 or 2?

You'll get the points eventually. What's the big deal?

This is the question I believe the OP was asking. Obviously the major points for where a team places at the end of the season cannot be given until the end of the season but the rules for awarding of points for individual games is very confusing.

                          Consider:

                          1) You may not receive points for tournament championships depending on the tournament.
                          2) You may not receive points for victories over significantly higher teams during play in certain leagues like CDL.
                          3) Beat these same teams in a tournament GotSoccer likes and you get points.
                          4) If you are playing in a tournament GotSOccer likes you may actually get points for beating or even tying a LOWER ranked team (I have specific examples of this).

What is going on here? GotSoccer is basing everything off of the venue - where the game is played - rather than the teams playing the game. Maybe this is how they can direct traffic to certain tournaments, and maybe that is somehow part of their business model.

If so, would be disappointing but not surprising.

There used to be much better rankings like this: http://youthsoccerrankings.us/ but as you can read if you go to that link they cannot provide rankings until later in the year due to the birth year changes and inability to use performance from last year (all the teams this year are considered completely new).

Means something to the kids, gives them additional motivation, increases the fun to work for progress. I guess it is similar to asking an adult whether it matters if you make 50K/yr or 70K/yr or if you have a corner office or a cubicle.

but my point is that gotsoccer points does not equal team or individual success. your analogy to salary or corner offices is absurd. it does not mean that the kid is a better player or that your team is better. so what does it matter if you're 10 or 7? Once you're in the top 5% of teams, that should be good enough to get you into elite tournaments which to me is the only value of GS.

You don't get paid based on GS rankings, do you? That would be bizarre.
