Where do clubs find these dumb coaches?

At our club we were given a crap coach that has no idea how coaching recruiting or how soccer has changed. Why is it then they ask a dumb daddy to help assist them. And their idea of a good team is the older they get no skill needed just play more physical. Our team is now going down hill fast and good kids ride the bench. Other teams having the same problem? Team was good but now?

Does your club have a DOC? If so, complain to him. Insist he go watch training sessions so he can see what the coach is or isn't doing. If not, there's your first sign of trouble that should have set off your radar. Clubs are aware when teams aren't performing. The question will be what does yours do about it. if they do nothing, start looking elsewhere

Please he's friends with this dumb coach he is playing B to C level players because he thinks high school soccer is the best. While highly skilled and very good players sit. Someone needs to tell him high school is a joke. He hasn't coached for 20-30 years and he's so out of touch. Guess we will win crap tournaments but no way will we win anything good. To bad he has no idea of talent

You seem too disgruntled to complete this season. Get out while you can to save yourself and everyone else who has to hear you complain. Good players very rarely sit the bench unless they have horrible attitudes or don't hustle. Let me guess, your kid is one of the good players on the bench?

Find and read the article about the developmental saboteur. These coaches exist because clubs need warm bodies to babysit while they collect large fees from gullible parents.

These coaches often only want big and fast kickball players. This helps keep them from being exposed as developmental frauds because they can win against average teams this way, but they will consistently lose to the teams with the skilled players and quality coaching. In the end, the kids are the ones getting screwed the most.

As they get older, the problem is only worse for them. They now lack the skills and awareness they were never taught. Physical is all they have left, and that simply won't make the next level cut after club years are over.

There is a shortage for skilled and caring coaches.
