Someone has been drinking all Sunday afternoon.

GDA needs to start at a much younger age if it plans to be a game changer.

Many have been saying that. It took DA years to realize that getting kids at U14+ and often older means years of lost training opportunities and only just now have started the boys that young. GDA should have started with a U12-14 focus to develop the talent at a younger age and train them the way you want, then build from there. Getting them into the system at a younger age also means there will less of a pull for HS when it comes time. If also means flushing out the HS girls currently in the recruiting process or already recruited can continue without having to make difficult and unnecessary choices.

You just don't get it. The GDA will be a game changer as it is. It will be the single best thing to ever happen to the women's game in this country. After the full effects are felt, the USWNT will never lose another international game.

We have the men's NT as proof of our success!

One, it has already started. Two, why are you so bitter that it has. Three, yes they won't be able to play High School

What is bitter about saying development needs to be at a much higher level before they hit U14? Dev Academies are needed for the younger girls.

It hasn't "started. It does not start at U12 like the boys does. Lots of girls will still play in HS - they'll just stick with ECNL

I think a lot of girls would choose DA if they really knew it would be something different and great.

There is no ECNL in South Florida. Girls there have no choice but to go to DA. Unless you want to travel all the way up to FKK or Jax

Sunrise and GPS West have applications in. Could be announced today.

I was speaking in generalities not area specifics. GDA and ECNL will have their own pockets for strengths and weaknesses. But that means that nationally neither will be the clear winner. Both will be diluted but both will offer players choices to help them reach their final destination - college.
