Results for local clubs from Day 1 of ECNL Florida

Interesting to see the results of today's games at the ECNL showcase event in Florida. Most surprising is Crossfire, who I thought would be extremely strong since they moved from the DA. PAC teams also look very strong based on this small sample size.

    WPFC
    U16 - LOST 0-2 to Scorpions Soccer
    U17 - Did not participate
    U18 - WON 4-1 over Bethesda SC

    Eastside FC
    U16 - LOST 0-5 to Charlotte Independence
U17 - TIE 0-0 against Atlanta Fire United
U18 - TIE 1-1 against South Carolina United

    PACNW
    U16 - WON 2-1 over DKSC
    U17 - WON 3-1 over FC Stars
    U18 - WON 6-3 over Ohio Elite

    Crossfire
    U16 - LOST 1-2 to FC Stars
U17 - LOST 2-3 to Match Fit Academy
    U18 - WON 4-2 over GSA

    Seattle United
    U16 - Did Not Participate
    U17 - Did Not Participate
    U18 - TIE 0-0 against WNY Flash

looks like they overall held their own. so what strikes me most about these results is how much better the results would be if we had 2-3 "elite" teams in the PNW instead of 5-6 lol

Elite teams are overrated. ECNL and GDA are overrated.

        Thanks for posting the scores.

I don't think you can just any club/team by one day's performance and you need to consider rankings.

Also look at the u17 rankings, for example; Eastside tied a team that is at roughing the same ranking level. # 40 ranked Xfire U17 lost by 1 to #12 ranked team...

Let's see how the season goes.

Add in that many of the ECNL teams didn’t send a lot of their already committed players but others did. It’s really impossible to get a true picture of team strength at a showcase as far away as FL. Wait for regular season results and I bet Crossfire will dominate.

Agreed that it is impossible to derive any trends from just a few games. But I do enjoy seeing how our local teams do against competition from throughout the country. Here are today’s scores:

              Crossfire

On the ECNL site, you can find national and conference rankings.

                Here's NW U17s:

And here is National Champions League, which I think is the highestbracket, with Xfire at the bottom:

North American Cup, which I think is middle bracket, has PAC u17 at the top:

Open Cup has Seattle United and Eastside:

Ugh, sorry, tried to post different screens but realized after I posted that it defaulted to one URL every time but that's the general page

ok, so those are the rankings but they're essentially random right now since the season just started and they've played very few games. look at the win/loss records which is a string of zeros

The purpose of a high-school aged showcase is to get exposure to colleges. Not sure the win-loss record from this weekend is an accurate assessment of teams considering some coaches will intentionally play uncommitted juniors/seniors a lot more than their normal line-ups.

Isn’t it U19 since the 01s that are seniors are playing. Gotta love birth year...

Older teams are technically U18 and then there's U18/19 composite for the birth year thing

Does anyone know why Seattle United wasn't represented in the younger age groups?
