It wont make a difference, prez still has rec mentality, now they will promise more crap and continue with the same crap coach(ing)

Training is horrible, no sticks, ladders, hurdles or a specific technical plan.

Victor was just part of a huge problem, but The prez and his minions are still there.

In addition to that they have coaches and keep coaches like Sergio Laos around that has run teams into the ground.

Even to the point people have paid the $1,000 to leave Weston others have one foot out the door already.

You talk to any parent on his U9 and u11 teams, not the kiss arse team manager from the U11 team, and all you do is hear horror stories.

If Thomas Rongen keeps coaches like this on board Weston will not improve.

surely decorated resume! but this guy seems to be a short timer on the recent places he has worked at .. I wonder why .. is he committed to Weston for more than one year?? I wonder what type of contract he signed. In this position you need at least 3 years to put your stamp on a program, will he be around that long?

                  Weston's new announcement

                  Weston FC Members,

As a follow up to the exciting announcement last week regarding the appointment of Thomas Rongen, we wanted to provide an update on the club's technical organizational structure.

Marcelo Neveleff, the club's Director of Coaching and Technical Director, has oversight over the club's entire technical program, and will continue to have direct responsibility for the club's Academy and Pre-Academy Program. Reporting to Marcelo are:

Victor Pastora, the club's Assistant Technical Director, who now will focus exclusively on the Academy and Pre-Academy Program and provide support to the club's DOCs. Tricia Taliaferro, Girl's Director of Coaching, Thomas Rongen, Boy's Director of Coaching, Andrew Jones, Competitive Director of Coaching, and Daniel Serravite, PHD, Fitness Program Director.

Weston FC is very proud to offer these seasoned, accomplished and professional technical staff to its players.

Thanks to all for making this past year a memorable one and we look forward to seeing everyone at tryouts over the next week.

I think if they give Thomas enough support, he will do something with that program. He is way more qualified than most of the morons there!

Double Dealing? Rongen leaves Treasure Coast Soccer wondering ***

What's with this guy? He just announced his deal with another League - also said he was coaching Hobe Sound boys teams - now he's going to Weston, while still living up in Martin County? How much time do we think he is really going to spend at Weston? Is he doing both?

                        NEW CHALLENGE FOR EX-STRIKER
Thomas Rongen joins Treasure Coast Soccer League

The Treasure Coast Soccer League has named Thomas Rongen to its board of directors as the league's Technical Director.

Initially, Rongen will be working with the TCSL executive board to evolve a development pathway league for the Treasure Coast and north Palm Beach County. Rongen will host educational trainings clinics for clubs, teams, players and coaches.

Current members of the TCSL are clubs based in Martin and St Lucie County. They are Jensen Beach Soccer Club, Hobe Sound Soccer Club, Port St Lucie Soccer Club and the YMCA of the Treasure Coast. The league is planning to expand this spring to include other area clubs.

Before moving to the USA national U-20s team, Rongen coached Tampa Bay Mutiny, New England Revolution, D.C. United and Chivas USA from 1996 to 2001 in a coaching career that saw him win an MLS Coach of the Year Award in 1996 with Tampa Bay , as well as capture the 1999 MLS Cup and two regular season championships with D.C. United.

Rongen moved to the United States in 1979 to play in the North American Soccer League with the Los Angeles Aztecs after beginning his career with Dutch club Ajax and playing 25 matches with the Dutch Olympic Team. He also played for the Washington Diplomats and Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

He began his coaching career in the American Soccer League with the Strikers in 1988, first as an assistant then as the team's head coach, a position he held until 1994.

The holder of a U.S. Soccer Federation “A” license and a KNVB (Dutch) coaching license, Rongen also has an associate of arts degree in languages from Snellius Lyceum Higher General Continued Education in the Netherlands and a master of arts degree in physical education and recreation from the Government’s Central Institute for the Training of Sportsleaders in the Netherlands. Fluent in Dutch, German and English, Rongen married Gail Megaloudis a few hours before his MLS coaching debut on April 13, 1996.
